"Last month, Schott, a 42-year-old engineer who lives in Santa Rosa, set out to break the world record for most pull-ups in one hour. A week after he filmed himself doing 644 in 60 minutes, he got word from the folks at Guinness World Records that he was the new record holder -- beating the previous record by 71 pull-ups."Dec. 9th 2005
also, the world record for pushups is 10,507... obviously no time limit, but i think it took him something like 7 hours to complete...
i always thought i could do a lot of both, untill i read this... but the most i ever did was senior year of high school durring wrestling season... 39-pull, 155 (forget the exact #) pull

Doesn't some Marine Corp DI have the record for push-ups?
-
It's funny to watch these guys do it, they look like a fuggin' chicken going crazy bobbing their head up and down for reps! Monster 2" arm bending!
-
I once saw some record breaking push-up attempt on tv. They were maybe quarter reps. It was embarrassing to watch.
-
i very well may just brake this pull up record! is there much money involved? what do you do like contact guiness? is there a weightclass too?
-
I don't think people realize how hard the pullup thing would be. You're talking a pullup ever 5.5 seconds for an hour straight. That's counting the time doing the rep.
