LOL... you should see how soft and non-threatening I am, in real life.
Skip shave for 2 days, add one shot jaeger, and you have the POS presented here.

thanks man. I've been monster sleep deprived for the last 3 months with a newborn, but it's getting better lately. Gimme another month to get a tan and get my swole back on, I'll be looking 22 again!
I could kick your ass.
I'm a cardio queen these days. You couldn't catch me :)

I've been thinking of taking up the guitar. My brother has an old acoustic he doesn't use and some training books I could mess around with. I've got a couple friends who are amazing at it.
-
I have played guitar since I was 10. it's autopilot when i play bass. i just get the chords and play the songs pretty tight. aside from my normal band, i fill in with other bands 8-10 times a month. I'm a popular live player around town. fun stuff.
if you're starting new, definitely get an acoustic, and get a few lessons - you'll learn more in 4 lessons than you would in a year of jamming in your room. And just keep a guitar handy and noodle around with whatever's on the radio. Just find what the root note is, and use that blues box.

are you getting hit on more now that you wear a wedding band? 8)

I just need help changing some diapers. Once she's done with that and the dishes, I'll send her back with a nice krispy kreme facial. I like having the place to myself!

Yes, I would love to skip baby duty to see some booty.
But I'm leashed up pretty tight these days. I tend to put a stripper thru med school every time I go to that place. It's the only club I've ever been to that is all hands on, "except for my cookie" as they put it there :)

I used to play bass.. I still occasionally but it really is a very limited instrument (in the hands of the mere mortals - I have seen some insanely amazing talents).

What does you gym training look like these days?
-Hedge
-
do you actually train?
-
yeah, it's been 2 weeks off, playing 4 nights a week and taking on 2 big corp clients recently. just slammed.
incredible how i'm night and day, i will lose 10 pounds and all my arms/shoulders in a week off. i knew i lacked 'swole' in that pic but eh, tis life. one more week of this and i'll have the new spring schedule, where i'll lean up like gold ray did this year.

agreed to that. i am just a mortal with it, but i don't hit bad notes, i know just about every rock radio song since 1991, i'm a rhythm nazi, and i jump around a lot live.

the bass is a really underrated instrument. it's not flashy and at the forefront like the guitar, but even the simplest lines really anchor the song down. you'll rarely find someone in a band that makes you go "holy shit did you hear the bassist?" aside from obvious ones like primus or the chili peppers (the guy from mudvayne is pretty crazy too), but if you ever find a way to do it, pull the bass line out of a song and you'll suddenly realize that oh damn, those "easy" lines were pretty important.
-
yeah. I played like Duff for most of my life - picked a lot of the time and mirrored the guitar line, lots of octaves, and really just tried to show off 1-2 times a song. Last year I got a few instructional videos and learned how damn smooth it can be - bass can really be the sexiest instrument. Now I try to do a lot more subtle stops, keep the drummer & guitarist completely glued together, and provide a stage presence that others cant.

Ryknow is an amazing bass player. Hands down the most technically adept I've seen live ever. Shame much of his talent is really lost on mudvayne. Full 4 fingered playing, multi string popping.. allsorts of strange technique.

Victor Wooten and John Patitucci smokes them all.

i always pick up on sweet funky bass lines. the bassline makes or breaks a song!! and flea is god.

how could a man cheat on carmen elektra? go figure.
Jam on 240! looking quite cool! 8)

i've often wondered that. My only guess is that Dave navarro decided that nailing 1000 very hot girls was more exciting than tagging the same very hot yet aging carmen electra, for the next 40 years.

i caught a video of them performing dig live and it was really incredible. no way to appreciate how technical he is just listening.
-
240 still looks like he never touched a weight in his life. Monster lack of progress after decades of training.

How did Craig Titus get a guitar in prison?

Synthol in pickin fingers.

Heh yeh.. unfortunately thats really the bogus thing about being a bass player. Nobody really notices and even if they do they probably need to have played some bass to appreciate it.
