Title: How was your Christmas?
Post by: body88 on December 26, 2006, 06:27:41 AM
So what did you guys get for Christmas? What are some gifts you gave to loved ones / friends? My girl got me a 40 inch Sony bravia lcd! I bought her a diamond pendant necklace, some clothes from diesel and tickets to a concert. Now I have no money >:( I have a big family so I had to shell out big bucks for gifts >:(

I ate tons of awful food and got drunk... List some of the great foods you guys had. I ate lasagna (shout out to Bezerkfury) , turkey, stuffing, Pasta, chicken pam, roast beef, sausage peppers and meatball, pumpkin pie and brownies! I enjoyed a few Amstel lights to wash it all down.

I hope you all had a great Christmas! Now it is time for New Years!

Had some good eatin's myself.

Went to my fiancee's uncle's house and had the following:

Breakfast: egg and sausage souffle, home fries, bacon, and apple crumb

lunch: heavy h' orderves. too much shit to describe there.

Dinner: Prime rib, jambalaya with sausage, mussels, and pork, smoked salmon rolls, loaded baked potatoes, hot spicy crab dip, pepper jack cheese

Best gift I've received: A signed Todd Heap picture of him catching the winning touchdown against San Diego with 34 seconds left in the game. Awesome!

Wow, sounds like you enjoyed some great food guts. Is jambalaya a common dish out in Baltimore?

Not so much in Baltimore. My girl's Uncle owns a few restaurants in the North B-more area. He had quite the set up. He changes things up when it comes to cuisine. crab cakes, oysters, mussels are usually the norm for him but he went with a different method this year. Worked for me!

The not so great news? My girl is 5 days late on her period and she's always on time.  :-\

Cool, I have yet to visit Maryland. Sounds like a pretty cool place. I wouldent worry about the late period. That can be from a lot of things. Stress from the holidays being one of them. Are you ready for a child?

B-more is not the most aesthetically pleasing place to visit. Very industrial, in fact. You can smell the soap and sugar factories as you're taking route 95 into downtown. Very high crime rate also. Had my car broken into once in downtown. But the inner harbor is awesome during the warm months and is a great tourist attraction.

I guess I'm ready for a kid. 33 years old now and the old lady is 30 in March. We're engaged but her parents are strict Catholics and would definitely frown upon pregnancy before marriage.

Here's why i will could never fully trust a guy like chris aceto:

Yesterday morning i woke up, weighing 223 lbs (post morning shit, but before eating or drinking).  I always watch my eating during the holidays, but not on xmas day, i got all out.

I then proceeded to eat:

breakfast:  6 scrambled eggs, 8 pieces of cinnamon toast, 1/2 an apple, 1/2 a pear, a sticky bun and cottage cheese

lunch: leftover lasagna from night before, more than enough to give an italian heartburn

dinner: turkey, prime rib, sweet potatos, stuffing, green bean casserole, rolls aplenty, pie, sees candy

after dinner snack: 1/2 pot of coffee to wake up for the drinking

drinking with friends at night: too much red wine, like 4 sierra nevadas, whiskey and a budweiser.

3am drunken food binge: stuffing and turkey.

Now, this morning i woke up, took a shit and weighed 221 lbs.  by all intents and purposes i look better this morning than i have for a couple weeks. while its not "ab" season for me, i was more defined than usual.  from all the sodium i consumed yesterday,  i should be water logged beyond belief, and have a distended belly today. i don't get the body. makes no sense.

The coolest gift i got, as usual was not the most expensive.  My parents surprised me by getting me that incredible new "U2 By U2" book.  The pictures and stories inside are amazing.  And its a huge,  nicely bound, quality book.  I also received a really nice socket wrench set that i had asked for.  My main gift was a large check from my folks to help my musician life.  What made me most happy though was the gift i got for my dad.  he's a big astronomy buff and i found this awesome book enirely full of pictures taken by the hubble telescope.  He was looking at it and reading it for the entire day.  Its much more fun to give than receive, but i DO love getting tons of shit, haha.

Say body, did you go somewhere where you could take frankie with you, or did he have to stay home or at a kennel??  I took my dog with me, but he had to stay in the back part of the house cuz of my folks dog.

My parents hosted Christmas so I was able to take my puppy along. My parents live right outside off Boston, so I was lucky and only had to drive about 15 min. My girl is from Boston also, so it was a local holiday for us.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the holiday!
