Greetings,

My name is Jason London. I'm 34 years old. I found this forum while searching on the net for some information on bodybulding conests. I recently completed the Sylvester Stallone Lifechange Challenge contest.

After my Father passed away a few years ago from Leukimia, I put on a lot of weight. I bought a Musclemag magazine and the add for the contest was in there. That's what fueled my fire. I won't know until next month if I have won or even placed.

along with my before and after photos, I had to submit an essay as part of the contest. It pretty much tells my story. Bodybuilding has changed my life and has become a lifestyle for me. I'm looking forward to learning more here.

Nice to meet you all!

Here is my story:

Dear Instone,

5 months ago, while food shopping, my wife bought me a Muscle Mag magazine because I have wanted to get back into shape. When I got home and started to look at the magazine, the first page I turned to was your ad for the Life Change Challenge. As I read the article, it occurred to me that if those people could make such a transformation that I could do the same.

I have had a membership at the Gold’s Gym here in Fresno for a few years, but I had never really gone. So, I took the magazine, an idea and myself, and went to see the Manager. I showed him the magazine and told him what my goal is. I asked if they would help me get into shape by sponsoring me. Two days later, they offered to sponsor me and gave me the use of their personal trainers free of charge. From that day on we started training six days a week. The Gentleman training me is Mike San Augustin. He is a nationally ranked power lifter. He has devoted his time; energy and knowledge into helping me get back into shape and winning this contest. Not only do Mike and I work out together now, but also we have become best friends because of this contest.

So much of my life has changed because of your contest. My pant size has gone from a 50 to a 38. My blood pressure, and cholesterol are back to normal. My self-esteem is through the roof, and I have made many, many friends at the Gym. I’ve also gotten 10 people from my workplace to join a Gym and start getting into shape because of my own transformation. It’s funny because those are the same people that used to make fun of what I was eating each day – Chicken, Egg Whites, and Broccoli!

I cannot thank you enough for placing an add in a magazine that can inspire someone to completely change their life! Something told me to buy that magazine, but it must have been fait to have me flip to your add first and read it.

I can now say that I am a new person. Not only do I have a new outlook on life, but also I know now that I will be around for my Family for a longtime to come. My only regret is that my Father was not here to see me transform. However, I know he’s been watching me from above.

My long-term goals are to compete in a bodybuilding contest and also to be a Certified Personal Trainer. I’ve already had a bunch of people from the Gym ask me advice on diet and exercise. I am more than happy to pass on what knowledge I have learned over the past 4 months to help someone else change his or her life as well.

Thanks again, Instone!
