henry. over a 900 pound deadlift, a good olympic lifter, and won the 2003 arnold classic strongman competition. that last part was while he was juggling a wrestling career, no less. he also picked up the famed inch dumbbell on his first attempt, then pressed it overhead. he's proven a contender in all three strength sports and that was without really dedicating himself to it.
-
od wilson was in human, but mark henry was more of an athlete and stronger lb for lb, if not out right.
-
O.D died at 37?! Wow that's young. :-[

42 inch quads sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk thats one big coffin

Mark Henry no doubt, held the drug free world record for the deadlift for something like 9-10 years. Has a squat over 900 too, i think its around the 970 mark or something . Had he not gone into wrestling (hell he made 10 million so was a great career move!) he would probably hold the dead and squat record right now. He would have set records not broken in his lifetime, im sure of that. He is an incredible human being, i believe at 400lbs his vertical leap is over 30". When he lifted the Inch dumbbell, he picked it up with his left hand and put it on a table or something ha ha ha
There has never been a human being with more strength potential than Mark Henry

so glenn ross doesnt stand a chance? i thought he won the ASC powerlifting events recently as well

hes been injured recently, but for stationary strength hes probably stronger than Savickas when at his best.
-
Mark Henry............easily. He is a true freak!
-

ross is an odd case because he has zero technique. he probably has more muscular strength than the other guys, but he has terrible form. watch the videos, he goes on PURE brute strength, which actually makes things very impressive.
-
Glenn Ross...had he focused on powerlifting he would have totalled well over 2400 RAW and exceeded Mark and OD's bests
-
i believe Glenns raw lifts total something like 2200 dont they? At 100% hes the strongest guy of the current generation no doubt, but Mark Henry is a genetic phenomenon
-
so it could go either way. now, who would win in a fight to the death?

same could be said if henry hadn't gone into wrestling and if OD hadn't died.

god damn thats alot of weight
-
Bossa, you can't take best individual lifts and add them to make a total. The total must all come in one meet.
They were/are all incredibly strong men. I think my vote for overall strength would be for Henry but it is close.
-
paul anderson is stronger than any of them.
ross, wilson, and henry all juiced.
henry seems more like an athlete, where as OD and glen have more static strength.
-
paul anderson is stronger than any of them.
if you believed the stories, anderson squatted 1200 pounds raw, ate lightning and shat thunder. ::)

He didn't make anywhere near 10 million. Common mistake from out of hand rumor.

This is off topic, but I was watching the 2006 strong man competition on Viasat and was amazed at this super walk event (or something like that) where they had to walk with 800lbs draped on them (like a walking with the bar instead of squating it) well long story short many attempted this but just a handfull were sucessful. All them were wrapped from head to toe, knees wraps - most double wrapped, belts on top of form-fitting belts, belts on top of squating suits, except this one guy who just wore an old leather brown belt with shorts and and a t shirt and did the walk like it wasn't shyt.

Do you mean to say he didnt? ???
-
paul anderson was the strongest squatter of all time, this cannot be disputed
-
Anderson was 5'8"? He weighed over 400lbs?
Wasnt he renowned for overhead pressing as well as squatting?
-
he was 5-8 but not 400lb (in his prime at least) more like mid 300's.
his pressing strength was great but not as dominating as his squatting power.
-
Do you mean to say he didnt? ???
yes and no, Anderson was ungodly strong but was notorious for squatting all of his 900lb.+ attempts a couple of inches high, his pressing strength was unreal though.
-
Mark Henry could/can dunk a basketball, def more impressive then most strongmen.
-

very true. his clean+jerk record was basically a clean+military press. i don't fight any of his actual recorded feats, but there are too many that come from sources like "my dad saw it in tulsa when he was 13! it's for real!" there's no way he was stronger raw in the 1940s than guys are in gear (and WITH gear) in in the 2000s.
-

well he signed a 10 year contract at $1 million a year apparently. What did he actually get then?
-
Well every comp i have seen Ross in he has been by far the strongest as long as that event requires no fitness what so ever, log press, squat etc
-
i think the general concensus is that if its a static lift, then glenn is the strongest man in any field. A guy his size has zero cardio ability so thats why he will never win the WSM competition even if he is stronger than Mariusz

Check out a young Ross before he went all hardcore ;D
