no clue ....

dean is my favourite bjj guy and i think he should be the model for any (somewhat strong) guys who want to get into the game ... he has possibly the tightest game i have ever seen on a big guy

His reactions and instincts are amazing. Most BJJ guys I've seen don't even come close. He was the topic of recent discussion in the gym the other night and we were all curious as to where he cut his teeth at. That doesn't look like gracie jujuitsu to me.  :-X

my opinion of gracie jiu jitsu is its gi based nature makes it less effective when you try it on someone who knows what they are doing in a MMA setting ... i think dean practices a much tighter game that relys more on his functional strength

when people ask me what i do i always say "submission wrestling" for this reason

Couldn't find anything official. BJJ.ORG, which had all the lineages, has merged with on the mat, but I did a search of that site and came up empty.

Dean did most of his BJJ training under Fabio Santos (7th Degree BB under Rickson) in San Diego.

He also trained in Brazil for awhile, and could've gotten it from someone down there.

I'm guessing he got it from Santos.

I doubt anyone thinks you're an MMA fighter.

I think he got his black belt under one of the Machado's, but I could be wrong.

Aren't you the clown who was pissing and moaning about having your toenail "almost" kicked off? I'd stick to crochet if I were you.

As an aside, Brent Stulchik (spelling is dubious) at the boxing club is a stud on the mat as well.

Word. he appears to have flat feet. I'm serious.  When he steps his weight lands flat. and he has no spring.
