Which is better (healthier) to mix with foods like oatmeal......Milled Flax seeds (ground up) or the whole little seed?

Just depends on what you like.  I like the milled ones better becuase they are smaller and blend in better.  Just make sure they are cold pressed.  Or be a man and take the liquid.

I like the milled myself. The brand I get has the consistency of oat bran so it blends easily. I add two tablespoons to my oatmeal.

The seeds should always be milled/grounded if you want to absorb any of the omega3's.  If you eat the seeds whole they will pass through the GI undigested.

Whole seed is basically only adding fiber (comes out just like it went in).
Ground still gives you fiber, plus the nutrients, taste and texture.
Ground flax oxidizes very quickly. Grind your own (coffee grinder works great). Keep it refridgerated.
