Wow....I've never seen that clip before.

The announcer was none other than Don "The Ripper" Ross for those who don't know...

Don was quite the character, and lived a very eclectic life...strongman, wrestler, bodybuilder.

Don died a few years back...I miss his enthusiasm and his love for the sport.

i remember reading about it in Ironman a couple of months after it happened in like 95 or so and his widow said that he had a strong history of heart problems in his family and that the coroner said that he had almost 100 percent blockage of his arteries.

Millions of people each year die of heart attack...a bodybuilder dies, it was from the steroids.

More likely, it was a result of eating habits and heredity...but believe whatever makes you feel better about yourself.

i agree Bob, that's what i was trying to say with my post, his wife said that it ran in his family and that he was a voracious red meat eater and never really changed his diet even after he knew he had heart problems.

Don was a funny guy.  We did a Gillette commercial together that went on to win a CLEO award.  He was a nut and they kept asking me to control him during the shoot.  He demanded steak at lunch or he was going to walk.  He later started doing a story on me in the early 90's for some magazine but nothing ever came about it.

Hey does anyone know what sport/occupation has the most instances of death via heart attack per capita?

I get sick of that steroid shit being thrown around when ever a bodybuilder has a health problem. like  dude regular people have kidney/liver/heart problems and its in the family, but bodybuilders have the same exact problems and its from roids.

Matter of fact I am.  I make the big move to L.A. next September for expensive professional training but thanks to the good ol G.I. Bill Uncle Sam will be footing the bill. I'm glad I'm doing at when I'll be 29 vs. when I was 19.  It would have been a disaster.

Wow!  Cool to see Dean Caputo again.  Where is he these days?  What kind of shape is he in?  If he's still lifting someone here must see him at the gym.

Thats cool. Im from LA  but i live in ATL right now. My sister is a model/actress in LA and its still tough for her. She goes on auditions like everyday. She hosted a show on BET called My model looks Better than yours. She also did a movie called "crossover".

I think its hard as shit to be an actor now a days. Im sure BOBBY C can attest to that.

Thats cool...My kid sis has a movie comming out with chris rock this year i think.
I guess as actors you need that one big role to launch your carreer. Look at sam jackson He didnt get his break until he was like 42...with pulp fiction. he only got like 300k for the part but look at him now. So it aint never too late. Keep at it Bob, youll be the next action star and then Govenor of new york.

I believe the best way for me is to go to this school, American Academy of Dramatic Arts all many of the greats attended, Kirk Douglas, Danny Devito, Spencer Tracey, Grace Kelly, Robert Redford among many.  It's 16gs for 1 year and you have to be invited back for year two. I'm trying to shed an notation that I have lifted a weight because I don't want to be type casted. I've been as heavy as 254 but with high bf 24%.  I'm in the process of getting down to 185-190.  I'm scared as shit cause I've been in the military for almost 9 years and have been dependent on it. But I figure hey, I have my degree, I have no kids and I have a talent go for it. I have friends that have kids and are married that don't have a that opportunity. I will definetly have to adjust my way of living because of expensive ass Cali but I'm originally from Las Vegas so it won't be so bad.
