He went very far with a poor structure and muscle bellies. That's impressive.

How is it that he looked so good in the front double biceps picture above and the one below?  I've seen other Gaspari pictures and understand the blocky comments, yet those two pictures don't show it.

Not so much "best", but "most impressive".  For example, I would say that Markus Ruhl was more impressive than Shawn Ray but that's not to say I think Markus was better, since there's more to bodybuilding than simply impressiveness.

But when we're talking about dense muscle just popping off a bodybuilder's frame and conditioned from head to toe, I think Rich definitely qualifies, and while Lee Haney may have been better, he lacked a lot of the qualities that made Rich as impressive as he was - or at least lacked them in comparison to Rich, much like Rich lacked the stature and shape of Lee.

Rich Gaspari - the most impressive bodybuilder of the eighties.  Anyone with me on this?

I'll agree.  His routine at the 86 pro world was cool as hell, I'd love to see that on youtube and NOBODY was as good as Rick was at that age...ever.

Rich should have won the Mr. Olympia in 1987:

 :D
yeah Rich should have won a couple of times, i remember reading Haney's training book a long time ago and he said that he used to train with Rich sometimes and that he used to call him "fatboy" because Rich loved to eat Fatburgers.
