i would say raging bull.the reason this movie is the greatest boxing movie is because this movie was based on a real boxer s life jake lamatta and also robert di nero was at his best in this movie.
-
Rocky, but it is so much more than a "boxing" movie. Best film ever. period.

What movie? Raging Bull? Is that Lamotta?

I wonder what it's going to be like for Keith when he looks back later on in life and realized that he's accomplished nothing outside of knowing a few people no one will care about in 30 years. ::)

Quite asking me questions about this stuff cause you rag onme for name dropping and talking about the past all the time.
This was in 1987 when Jake, Ali, and a few others were inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame. I was the Guest of Honor.. At dinner I sat between Jake and Ali and became pretty good friends with them. It was one of the most memroable nights I have ever had. Every person you can think of in the boxing industry was there.

That is pretty cool actually. Jake is the man. I only ragged on you cuz you got pissed about my OPINION about BJ's cardio. But that was a few days ago, thats like 3 years in Getbig time. Cool Pic.

I believe you are referring to Cinderella Man, which is not what she is referring too, I haven't seen the one she is talking about.

But you gotta admit his stories kick ass. I like the most recent one where he beat a doberman to death with his bare hands! :o

That is a true story. That dog bite me twice before I did anything including telling my friend Carl what I was going to do unless he got the dog away from me.

Undisputed

I hate almost all movies that are based on true stories because they tend to always be overdramatic and in the end unrealistic. I am more into factual stories like shit you see on History Channel or other educational channels.

After I watch these "based on a true story" movies, I research for weeks on the story.. I have never found anything to be false to make these movies more exciting than they really were.. The only part in Cinderella Man that was false was the friend that died in Hooverville didn't really happen. I'm not sure why they added this, maybe to get you to realize what was going on at that time in history..

That's my point, they either add in a dramatic part or over exaggerate things to make them more exciting. I prefer facts over fiction and I would consider myself a history buff.

Rocky 4
I must break you

Then you'll like "Unforgiveable Blackness" a well made documentary on PBS and available on DVD re: the life of Jack Johnson, one of the greatest heavyweights of all time. Very fact based and informative.

another vote for rocky 4. just montage after montage, and rocky's toughest opponent of all the movies

Rocky IV is the most inspiring as far as the training scenes and Sly was in the best shape of his life for the movie.

yep. all drugs though. monster irony considering they were ripping on drago and the soviets for doping, yet stallone was juiced to the gills for that movie
-
Rocky 4 was brilliant, Raging Bull was incredible but one of my personal favourites is a Cuba Gooding Jr film called Gladiator
-
Raging Bull was quality, but I also enjoyed Ali.
-
I'm glad no one mentioned Million Dollar Baby.
