I agree with what Chick said on PBW radio about the picture Jay chose to put up at Golds Gym. It makes him look bigger than the past champions, kind of an arrogant choice on his part. I am suprised at him, he is usually a good sport about things. Also, graphically it doesn't match with the rest of the photos on the wall. That wall is historic and I think he should have respected the tradition. Jay , I say you should take it down and put up a full body shot with a look that matches the others. Discuss.

Listen I was all for Jay becoming Mr O. I started many a thread here and on Mayhem about how it was imperative he win and that he would bring a better day to the stagnating world of bodybuilding. However, I think the photo was a poor choice. I am all for shaking things up and bringing change and new ideas but I also think tradition should be respected and preserved. He did not show respect in his choice of photo.

I am suprised that Chick hasn't chimed in on this thread. Maybe the IFBB got to him and told him not to mention it ever again.

Jay had nothing to do with how big the pic was, he only chose the pose he wanted to have.

1) All the pics on the wall aren't consistent with each other, if you look all the way far right compared to some of the midle shots
2) It's not THAT much bigger then the other ones as far as aspect and proximity goes.
3) Jay is physically (muscularly) BIGGER then all the other past Mr.O's so maybe it's just.

When Chick wins the Mr. O, he can put up a nice, respectfully-sized photo of himself.

Jay had nothing to do with how big the pic was, he only chose the pose he wanted to have.
I dont mean that the picture was physically bigger, I meant the photo was more of a close up shot than the others and thus makes him appear much larger than the other champions.

The photo was taken backstage at the Olympia this year right after he won...Jay requested that particular pose when asked what he tought his best pose was, and that was the best shot we had that was taken that night that matched his request...it just so happens that we happened to have gone in closer for that set of shots.
I guess you can blame myself and Robert Reiff for not having the forethought of planning the exact shot that would have matched the wall at Gold's several months later, had we known we could have done it full length and also held the Olympia stage BG...oh wait-they don't all have that either...and not all are exactly the same lighting, angle etc.
Jay's image is shot a little closer, and the fact that it has an empty BG does make him look bigger then the others...course, it could also be the fact that he IS bigger then most of the other previous Mr Olympia's...even Ronnie since his shot was taken towards the beginning of his reign.
wow...that's a lot of debate over a pretty cool photo of Mr Olympia on a gym wall

Next Mr O will have his mugshot posted up there.
This will be the trend, for each new mr O poster, the camera will zoom in closer and closer, no more from head to toe full figure-pictures.

I love the pic, I think it's a great shot and you guys did great! Txs again for providing that for Gold's and make it happen so quickly. (I am being serious on that)

It doesnt fit format of other pics, but thats where it ends. Who cares if hes closer to camera?
He is bigger than the others(sans Ronnie), anyway, so if looks bigger, I say no prob.

I agree that a full body picture would be more appropriate given the other pictures there.
That being said, Jay would still be the biggest.
Dorian and Ronnie were both more muscular, and better conditioned.
Cutler is the worst Mr. Olympia since Dickerson.

Why is it that Olympia winners have fairly modest looking wifes? Jay's is not exactly a knock out. Ronnie is not married, but at least Vickie wasn't very good looking. Debbie Yates looked quite average. Haney's wife didn't impress me too much. Don't know about Samir etc.
Why can't a Mr. O get an awesome looking wife? Is it a curse? ???

There has not been a respectable MR O since Yates. Jay is the biggest MR O ever with the biggest waist and drug usage....No one cares....Arnold will always be KING...

That's because he is freaking bigger. Not taller, but more massive. More dense. Thicker. He's been training longer than any of them too more than likely.
