Well I trained chest with shawn one time in vegas and I don't know about his max poundages but I will tell you that its an almost guarantee he will wear anyones ass out with strict form and volume if that's what he's doing that day! If my memory serves me right we did incline dumbells and he "only" went up to 120's but for 5 sets with those of 12-14! Then we did cables were he turned up the heat for another 5 pounding sets and then finished off with 5 sets of flat dumbells were he stayed at 12ish reps. Now this seems like no big deal when you read this but you gotta keep in mind his form is crazy strict and he took about 45 seconds between sets! I was impressed...my weight dramatically dropped as we went due to the tempo but he just kept rollin' and smiling! Leg day was next and after seeing the magazine articles I...well...I...yeah...ok ...I...bitched out!

ummmm...LOL, did you miss the part about strict form? Maybe I should help you out since you are challenged today. "strict" in this instance means that he probably took about 4 seconds to lower the weight followed by a short pause and then another 3 seconds to push it up. There was no crazy swinging or momentum like 99% of the people who lift out there. So if you now think you can do that weight for the mentioned sets than I would say you are stronger in that fashion than 95% of people on this board! Hope this helps. BTW, maybe you should post a video to show how strong you are...

pssssst, you don't have to be a powerlifter to be a bodybuilder.

ahahaha!!! Not everyone has figured that out yet and the physiques they have are all the proof in the world! Good one...my definition of "best" was referring to what is "best" for bodybuilding not necessarily powerlifting.

shawn ray has very good form (fast reps i know but he really feels the muscle when he works out..thats obvious) and is one of the smartest pros when it comes to training and doing what his body tells him.
guys is strong too..i know he has done 180lbs db press for reps in the offseason (he says so in his video atleast lol)

in final countdown:
shawn gets 3-4 reps by himself (+ a few forced reps) on the incline db press with the 150lbs dbs a couple of weeks before the mr olympia. he says he does up to 6 reps with 180lbs db in the offseason.
