Title: Ronnie, Jay, Dorian at their peaks
Post by: rccs on January 10, 2007, 08:45:56 AM
I these pics ilustrate their best conditions. Hard to tell who's significantly superior. 3 physiques 3 different work and drug usage methods.
Who is the best?

Ronnie is more aesthetic so he must win it.

Cutler doesn't even belong in the argument if you're talking about peak conditions.

As far as Ronnie vs Dorian, I think that may have already been covered....

Ronnie.  Jay and Dorian are close for muscularity, but Dorian is harder.

Jay Cutler makes Dorian look like Flex Wheeler.

Ronnie and Dorian can be debated, but Jay? Nice shape, for a fridge.

Ronnie spanks both of them. Hate it or love it.

First of all, his symmetry is much better than eithier of the two. Ronnie has a small hips, big arms, wide back and shoulders while Cutler has wide hips, wide shoulders and arms that don't match up. Dorian is not in the ball park on this one.

Second, Ronnie wins when it comes to size hands down.

Third, I would say Dorian and Ronnie at there best are tied in conditioning while Cutler is slightly behind.

Sure he does .......sure he does  ::) do you even know what symmetry is? and what it means in bodybuilding?  its balance & proportion and Ronnie isn't better balanced than Yates and never was

second of all Ronnie is lucky if he ' tied ' Dorian for conditioning when he was 244 pounds but his conditioning at Dorian's weight leaves a lot to be desired

do you even know the rules in which bodybuilding contests are judged? obviously not based on your opinion , based on the IFBB judging criteria Ronnie couldn't beat Dorian and neither could Jay.

Seriously, what are you guys looking at?

All three have shit physiques,

Excluding his arms, ronnies upper body is a disaster from the front, its just bulky muscle all over the place
Dorian has no arms and just like ronnie, front upper body is not the nicest
Jay, pretty much all shit

All guys have good poses here and there but thats not what it should be about, it shouldn't be about body parts or whos got the most muscle, the whole physique with symmetry, conditioning, size, proportion, etc should be looked at.  There should be a balance.  Look at Melvin Anthony, Levrone, Ray and especially Flex wheeler, minor flaws here and there but those guys physiques have IMO close to perfect physiques and kill these three piles of shit.

Yates dominated all your boys ;)

According to who?
The same guys that keep giving the olympia to the biggest guy on stage right, nice.  The same judges have been there forever and seem to give the guy with the most mass(mainly the back) the olympia, and once he gets it he can never be beaten even though its clear that guys have beaten him.  Yeah Ronnie got beat, wasnt it clear why when Jay gave his speech?  I wouldnt give it to either of them.  Thats why DOrian "donminated" them. Funny how you say dominated, when thier scores are based on judges with preferences.  Its not like an armwrestling match where you can dominate somebody, its a bunch of guys looking at somebody giving their personal opinion (following the judging criteria is not important).

bodybuilding judging is subjective not objective.

Narc D, bodybuilding expert, how are you gonna say a man with a cow belly, wide hips, small arms (torn biceps), and little quad sweep has better symmetry than a man with small hips, a tight waist, huge arms with beautiful biceps peaks, wide shoulders, and crazy quad sweep? Come on mon. There is no way on earth. Ronnie just has Dorian outgunned in the genetics department. He is much more aesthetic than Dorian.

The Arnold vs. Sergio topic is much more debatable than Ronnie vs. Dorian.

its not a tie, what is everyone looking at. dorians quads have no seperation, and his arms blow. he had a wider waist then ronnie and less taper. hi delts are not a striated nor detailed as ronnies. Even on back i beleive ronnie wins, but it could honestly go either way on the two main poses.Hams and glutes ronnie clearly wins, its not even up for debate. so dorians dryness, makes up for lack of detail, seperation and proportion, taper and asthetics? ronnie also has rounder muscle bellies and in all a much more pleasing physique at his prime.

who is better ronnie or dorian, discuss.

however, that didnt help ronnie with his genetic and asethetics when he faced dorian for 7 years and the closest he got to him was at the 96 Olympia, where dorian got another perfect score and ronnie got 6th place.

Dorian at his best smokes Ronnie in the balance & proportion department , he smokes Ronnie in hardness & dryness , he smokes Ronnie in density , and spare me the aesthetics claim if you were talking about Flex maybe that would mean something and ironically enough Flex couldn't touch Yates despite his outstanding shape & aesthetics , neither could anyone else

You live in this fantasy world where the rules don't apply but there are rules in physique contests and they favor Yates

The comparisons of the compulsory poses cannot be overemphasized
as these comparisons will help the judge to decide
which competitor has the superior physique from the standpoint of
muscular bulk, balanced development, muscular density and
definition.

Dorian depending on the year has the edge in muscular bulk

1998 Ronnie 249 pounds - Dorian 260 pounds
1999 Ronnie 257 pounds - Dorian 260 pounds ( and one inch shorter )
2001 Ronnie 244 pounds - Dorian 260 pounds
2003 Ronnie 287 pounds - Dorian 260 pounds ( edge to Ronnie )

Balanced development - Dorian period , end of sentence NO debate

Muscular Density - Yates

Definition which is conditioning - Yates , Ronnie may have come close in 98/01 but he was smaller than a 260 pound Yates

There are rules and they favor Dorian

In Jays defense here....he is like 10 years younger than Ronnie. Jay at 33 vs Ronnie at 33 isnt even a contest. Jay would blast him. Ronnie at 33 competed at ~250lbs....Jay at 33 competes at 274lbs....and is considerably shorter. Ronnie didnt have cut hams and glutes before 1998 (age 35). So Jays got a lot of improvement to look foward to.

yawn another baseless claim these two pics are 93/94 respectively Dorian's biceps post-tear is maybe 1/2 shorter if you're lucky and thats just shorter from the bicep to the forearm NOT around his biceps post tear were virtually the same with the exception of one being a tad shorter than the other , you guys with this missing arm nonsense
