Title: What went wrong with bodybuilding?
Post by: jumpstart on January 14, 2007, 08:46:50 AM
Why do we bodybuild? From the start we bodybuild because we want to look better and/or feel better about ourselves. We at first began lifting weights when we was overweight or skinny. Looking like some greek god was our ideal look. When we first saw the likes of bodybuilders like frank zane, lee labrada, or Arnold himself we wanted to be that kind of physiue. Some of us spent hours in the gym, changing our diets so we could at least get a glimpse of what we wanted our bodies to look like like our heros.
As time passed in the world of bodybuilding the sport got out of hand tho. Our sport no longer was a sport but a freakshow. A freakshow in every sense of the word. The ideal body look started to slowly vanish. Bodybuilders started to grow beast like bodies, Snythol usage,A overkill on the steroid usage, dehydrating our bodies with dieurctics, the list goes on. Bodybuilding is no longer considered what it use to be. We can only hope that our sport will be revived to that glorious time of yesteryear.
