I can give an example of the diffence in standards that white people are held to:
In Enlgand the current series of Big Brother is bering aired, amongst the contestants are One of the Jackson 5(obviously a black guy) aload of white no names and an indian Bollywood actress. The white people were taking the piss out of the bollywood actresses accent, 1 person said that "indian food is disgusting", and another satated that as the actress was Indian "you don't know where her ands had been", after she had been handling food. This is headline news in England, over 11 thousand people have complained to the TV channel, the British government have been condemming it, the indian government have been condemming and there have been protests in India about it.
Meanwhile the guy from the Jackson 5 has been calling a white person in the programme "White Trash" and you guessed not a peep has been heard about this from anyone. Double standards dont' you think?
The current generation of white people for the vast majority doesn't hold any racist views, and know full well the consequenses should we make any negative remarks on people due to the colour of their skin. However we are and I have have been accoused of being racist after getting into an arguement with a black work colleague. This woman went onto use the race card everytime she did something wrong.

I will be the first to say that there are genetic differences amongst the races. Black people ARE better athletes overall. Poor people in general bitch about people holding them down while they collect wellfare checks, and trust me there are a lot of white people doing the same thing, HOWEVER, black people as a part of their culture draw a lot of attention to themselves. I don't know why that is, but blacks are generally pretty loud and always have to be the center of attention, THEREFORE there is more attention drawn to black culture in this country, and therefore we are more apt to see poor blacks than the poor whites out there. We white people like to stay home, drink and beat our wives, SAME as black people. Poor is poor, color doesn't matter all the much. Ronnie seems to be a little bitchy, but I think it's tough for him to be a part of this industry, having been called the greatest bodybuilder ever, he wins 8 times in a row, jay is second every single damn year, then all of a sudden jay wins! I think it's easier in some respects for ronnie to spout off a snide remark here and there, then to really own up to the fact that he lost because he looked like total shit. Him saying jays comment was "one white mans opinion" really doesn't sound racist to me, it just says "hey im pissed, a little immature, and f**ck jay, now I have to win back the sandow next year and go out on top", it doesnt scream "this is a white consipiracy! Minorities have an easier time getting jobs, into colleges, and gays are more favored then straights by a country mile, as are atheists, because God isn't "cool" anymore. Ronnie for sure has dealt with share of racism over the years...Esp. being a police officer. Actually I disagree, being in the education (and having a mother as a teacher0 field and noticing thru high school, the opposite is true. White parents want their kids to be put in higher level classes, even though the child may not and does not do the work. Grades are basically given. When I was student teaching, parents were saying I was lying that that their kids are lazy...they want the grades, but will not work for it (like a lot of Am population today). Actually, the minorites in the lower levels were doing work and were not cutting up in class. There is enormous pressure on teachers to give grades out, because many white parents believe that it is the "other children who are poor performers". I'm talking no support from adminstrators and loss of a teachers job if they don't "give" good grades. Notice the word is give, not "earned". And every child is above average, not average ::). I guess it can be said that parents of athletes as well want preferetial treatment (and ahtletes do get it).
There was an article in the Wasington Post a couple of years ago by a white male teacher. He noticed that since black kids have the majority of sports locked up, white women and Asians have math and languages locked up, white males are now feeling that they have no outlets. Everything that they are entitled to, has been taken away, so they feel angst...then they turn to hip-hop, which is today's rock and roll. They start talking about being hard, and smooking blunts, drinking 40's, and the kids laugh a them.
Being in the education field opened my eyes up and also opened up a lot of eyes of white teachers that were with me as well . If anybody in the education field can comment please do
