Gary Taylor was a great strong man champ back in the early 90's.... he was a former prison guard...

I used to like the early days of WSM on CBS Sat. afternoons during the late 70's. They had allot of wrestlers. Ken Patera, Putski, Crusher Blackwell as well as Franco, Katz and some huge Hawaiians and Indians. It used to be awsum, as it was new watching a dude through a tire like a discus, racing with a refrigerator on your back. I think they made allot of these up at the time and dropped some the next year. It was a great warm up to the old Sat afternoon fights. And all on Free TV. No cable or PPV ;D

Fantastic clip, two of my favorite strongmen, and two of the strongest men to ever walk the planet

I would have loved to see how Bill would have done in his prime. I wonder if things would have changed?
-
GREAT video!
I really enjoyed those competitions more than the current day versions (although they are still pretty cool).

Im with you on this Chris, their is something more legit about the guys from 15-20+ years ago. I guess maybe they depend more on god given strengh than massive cycles of juice?

Probably, he sure as hell was strong like an oak bro

cool video, although i would've like to see them elevated so that they could get more range of motion on the pull

I tend to agree with you Nav, I think in his late 20s Bill was the strongest man to walk the earth.
