Which were?
-
first, we have to know how many Pro's there are before we can determine an answer.
-
and then, we have to figure out what percentage of them graduated from college... 8)

What percentage of Pro's have a college Degree?
A lower percentage than you would find in the general population.
Hope this helps.

Sounds like a tacit admission of Levrone-posing-suit collecting to me. ;D
To answer your earlier question: I'm sure I'll stop doing this bit when I get tired of it. But I doubt that will be any time soon.
-
Does Bob Chick have any statistics like this?
He really should consider publishing some general statistics about IFBB pros without infringing on anyone's privacy, like percentage of college degrees, higher degrees, stuff like that...

yes simple minds will continue to recycle 4 year old weak jokes rather than coming up with their own material...

I'm sure Baghdad Bob will chime in with something like "96.5% of IFBB professionals have four-year university degrees, with 56% of those having gone on to get their Master's, with 31% holding Ph D's or professional degrees. The current Mr. O is a tenured professor at Yale when he isn't competing, and the most recent former Mr. O has accepted a research grant at Stanford."
::)

Most of them have some sort of higher education. We all know Bodybuilding is a fleeting thing and can't be depended on for a steady paycheck for long. I personally have 5 college degrees one of them from a university in Health and Human Performance ;D

What's wrong with Phoenix?
-
Separate clearly, some has even master degree. Hide is from a very good university for example. Nasser has master also.Even Paul dillet has. Tom prince also. Arnold has. Needles to say, Frank Zane.I know more but i cant remember now.
Others are very low education levels.

Because he is from Waseda daigaku barbell club.

What's wrong with Phoenix?
divcom I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Alot of people use their on-line studies program. Nothing wrong with learning and achieving a degree

Most hiring managers, when looking at someone with a "degree" from an online UofP type place, do not consider it a "real" college degree. They will almost always choose the applicant who has gotten a degree from a traditional university.
Hope this helps.

goatboy I'm sure you are right but there is still nothing wrong with it.

Okay. Well, he managed the nyugaku shiken, so at least that must mean something. ;D ;D

I've crossed several Qwest employees in Denver with Phoenix degrees. It's more about helping the individual advance in his or her current position.
So...you are saying South Florida, for example, RN program is BS also? They still have to do their clinicals in a traditional hospital setting. Have had several students at the Hlth and Science Center.
Bethany Howlett has a combination education with her sciences taken GW and her business (MBA/Ph.D.) at Phoenix.
Guess I'm missing something here.

You're probably right about the RN thing, because it's more about state licensing than anything else. As long as the state will accept the education and grant a license, the employer really doesn't care. Especially in light of the shortage of nurses in many places. However, there are many who say that nursing is a field that more properly belongs in a technical or trade school than in a 4-year university, and many hospital-based RN school programs do not involve getting a college bachelor's degree.
Bethany's "MBA/PhD" would almost certainly be considered a joke by someone hiring for a position that requires one of those degrees. She would be viewed only as someone who holds a BS degree, since that was taken at GW, but not as a "real" MBA or PhD.
-
with the way the US job market is going, who needs a college degree?
Over the course of the last few years I have seen several folks that are non-college graduate new hires getting paid college-graduate level dollars with very little experience in the particular field they are hired. I guess that could be a piss off for some college graduates that busted their asses in school, but those overpaid new hires aren't going to progress anywhere else in their "careers". I think some companies are cuttin folks a break here and there, but that same "break" also represents the pinnacle of their careers.....they'll be hard pressed to move on to higher level position and will just work that job forever.
-
What's wrong with Phoenix?
Nothing, but there's a vast difference between online classwork and traditional classwork.....night and day difference in my opinion. If I received resumes from 2 applicants and both had the same degree and experience, but one earned a degree via online work and the other from traditional schooling I'd immediately be biased towards the traditionally educated applicant. Not suggesting one is smarter than the other, but I think one has worked harder than the other.

What difference would it make?
What would be the point in taking the time to conduct such a survey?

So we can be entertained by how uneducated "professional bodybuilders" are and how woefully unprepared for "life after the IFBB" they really are. ;D

I would worry about yourself, and how you're going to prepare for life when you're not spending 18 out of 24 hours on a bodybuilding forum wondering about pro's and how they live their lives...

18 Hours/day? I only average 10 posts a day... seems like you're on here more than I am, and unlike me, you DO need to worry about making a living.

It would be interesting to know for fans of the sport. Also, we can hold up the results as evidence to the prejudiced general population that bodybuilders are not just dumb meatheads.
Just a thought!!

Bob, the current incarnation of the board hasn't been around for 7 years.
The "new board" has been up maybe 4 years or so, and the most recent "server hiccup" where everyone's account got deleted, was like 3 1/2 years ago.

Who knows? It might give you a better understanding of the athletes you're representing. :)
