Title: The IFBB: found GUILTY of sexism!

Not to look at it from a mens or womens point of view, but from an honest point of view:

Men get all the attention, exposure and money with sponsors, in magazines, they get more money than women who do exactly the same job. In the same contest, men can make 100,000 while women make 10,000 at the same show! This is total sexism! The IFBB should either step up and have women get the same money prizes, or share and have the men make less and have both men and women win equal. It's a disgrace! Women work just as hard if not harder to be on that stage and should be treated EQUAL to men! Or they can just leave it like this and CLEARLY be sexists.  ::)

It is not fair, honest or prefessional to be so sexistic for such a big organisation, it's a disgrace! Weather we're talking about bodybuilding, fitness or figure, women work just as hard if not harder to be on that stage and should be treated EQUAL to men, at the LEAST!

WNBA Stars should be making 40 million a year also... just take away the profits from the NBA and split it in half.  ::)

Women are just earning their market value based on all the economic dynamics at play.  Nobody is forcing them to compete.  If they do, they do so knowing that there is no popularity in what they do, and therefore no generation of income which will trickle down to them.

In the spirit of getting paid based on work and not market value, how about I shovel your driveway with a spoon and you can pay me the same wage you would to a plow driver?

Thats why the women are trying to look more like men.  So maybe they can get more money.  Look at Renee Coleman

Matt C is making a good point.

If the non-male bodybuilders were bringing in the money the way the guys are, or at least had the potential to do it, then equal prize purse would be justified.

Just like it is in most tennis tournaments, where female tennis prize money are the same at all grand slams, even Wimbledon this year I believe, since they bring in as much money.

Right now, the non-male bodybuilders are even less mainstream than male bodybuilding.

The day someone with the muscle mass of Jodi Miller wins Ms Olympia, is the day that female bodybuilding once again can start hope to get interest from sponsors.

Look at Lauren Powers, Lehtonen, Joanna Thomas, Oriquen, Kyle...

They don't look like women. They all look deformed. Because they are. And this isn't about the "enormous muscle mass". It's about the baryton voice, the facial changes and the "penoris".

As long as those kind of persons are the peak of "female" bodybuilding, then female bodybuilding has no future.

You want female bodybuilders to have a future? Want them to be able to get big sponsordeals, to get bigger prize money?

Then get the judging on track again. Reward the classic physiques. Those who look like Delish.

Big and ripped? That has to go if female bodybuilding is to survive.

First off, its not sexism.  The ifbb does not pay the prizemoney, the promoter does.  second womens bodybuilding does not generate enough revenue to warrant paying more prize money.  why should mens bodybuilding which makes the most money have to take a paycut because there is no interest in womens bodybuilding?   Lets say you have two salesmen.  one of them is generating 10 times more money than the other, should he have to share his comissions because the other guy cant produce as well?  NO.  same thing here.  Money is paid where money is made.

Duhh, female bbers is not appealing to the crowd. But hell I dont see male bbers do what fitness women do. And noone looks as hot as the figure girls. Thats good mainstream xposure right there. Most men don't want to look that huge and freaky anyway. However All women want to look hot like the girls.

Women and men should be treated EQUALLY by the organisation they both compete in! If the organisation does and gives more for men than for women its sexism!.  :-\

Female models make more than male models because they are more marketable and the female industry brings in more money.  You can name a dozen or more female super models but name 2 male super models.

Well if male bbers get a bigger crowd than the hot fitness anf figure chicks do, the ifbb should do their best to generate a bigger crowd for the gals. If they care about them, that is... Hey it would generate more money not only for the women but for the entire industry. That should shake up their interest where actually caring about the female athletes of their organisation lacks..
