This was the Teen Age National Olympic w-l championships, now called the Junior National w-l championships. In that contest, I competed in the 198 lb. class and the meet was held at the York, PA YMCA, on June 20, 1959.
At the time, the former teen-age national record in the Clean and Jerk was held by John Gourgott (295 lbs., set in 1958) in the 198 lb. class. I lifted 315 lbs. in the C&J in the '59 meet, breaking the old record by 20 lbs.

Guess I had a "brain fart" on the actual date on the S&H issue. The contest reports used to appear in S&H about 3 months after the contests took place. It had a cover pic. of some BBer standing on a hill/mtn. posing by raising his arms up over his head, as I recall.
HOWEVER, I do have the referenced issue of the April '59 issue of Iron Man Lifting News with the contest report in it at my fingertips...so, send me $150 for a scanner!

Actually, I'm working as an environmental engineer, professionally registered in 3 states, doing on-site stormwater management site investigations and turning out civil and environmental engineering reports on same, which include complex AutoCAD 2D and 3D drawings that I've designed/created. Salary approx. 100K per year!
Nice supplement to my SS, teacher's retirement, airline retirement, and investment incomes, by the way!!

He insisists that he is running marathons and what not but he is also a 60+ year old man. I highly doubt that this fraud is infact an old man but yet again just some other kid who is mad because they can not get a juice hookup or are just plain scared to try it. so instead he bashes everyone on the board and since he has no input on lifting he has resorted to being one of the biggest schmoes since Sioxcountry.
He has no problem challenging people to lift the weights he allegedly did, however when I challeged him to post a picture of him with this weeks sports illustrated, which he should easilly be able to do if he was who he claimed he was, but instead he meltsdown completely, avoids my challenge, and resorts back to challeging me, SF, columbusdude, and buttsuck to lift the same weights using a modifier. I'm not saying I could C and J over 150 my bodywieght that'd be like 375lbs on a lift I've never even trained, but I bet he never benched 400lbs, ever............

When I was confused about the correct S&H issues, back in January, I had not dug out the old mag. issues/photos, etc., packed away for over ten years (at least!)...and so, it was a "memory loss" (not eyesight) as to which was the EXACT month of 1959 that the contest report(s) appeared in; which after 10 yrs. of not even thinking about the subject is reasonable even for youngsters, like yourself, I guess!?
This thread is just going around in ever wider circles...I've made my points, issued "my more than fair" challenges, and documented "out-the-ass" my claims of contests won and lifts made in my competitive lifting days!
Once again, my CHALLENGE...
With ALL of the cheating/artificial aids of BB drugs, multi-ply clothing for extra leg/hip/lower back support, and an extra unfair 13 lbs. of bodyweight thrown-in, merely lift 142 lbs. of iron (Olympic standard barbell) over your bodyweight (in my case, actually 155 lbs.!), from the floor-to-overhead, unassisted (a.k.a. the two-hand clean-and-jerk lift) in an OFFICIAL Olympic weightlifting contest; as I OFFICIALLY did as a skinny, all-natural, 185 lb. teenager, wearing no more than a 4-in. wide single-ply lifting belt (see photos of 340 lb. C&J on referenced thread) over 47 yrs. ago!!!
If the "Squad gang members" can't match this over 47 yr.-old all-natural feat-of-strength with all of the cheating/artificial aids available today, I truly feel SORRY for them...and it is truly "PATHETIC"!
