Some believe Karl Rove is the man who spent 4 years doing everything he could to polarize the candidates and positions. Black or white. There was no in-between. you're either for a "blank check" for war, or you are Osama's buddy. You're either Pro-Iraqi War, or you're anti-Troop.
It worked. The last two elections have been dead close, and there are very few "undecided" people.

Actually, the reality is that most people really are moderate on most things.
MOST people are socially liberal and don't care what you do with your own life, but fiscally conservative... these people REALLY ARE the largest group, however, they are not the most vocal, the far left and the far right are the most vocal groups, and the squeaky wheel gets the grease they say.
We need to stop letting the loonatics do all of the talking.
