About ready to go on a date, and I'm opting not to put on cologne. I always felt it is better to not be offensive (no scent) than to have one. I only wear cologne at work (very small amount), where the women always say I smell good.
What are your observations and preferences as women on the subject?
And fellas as well.

I just spray a little on my shirt.

Less is always more. Soap and shampoo are always good smells. But also depends on whether it's a new person or not. If new, could be intrepreted as you're trying very hard.

That is what i believe, and yes she is new--- none is cool and the way

Yeah, I don't know why, but cologne smells good at work... in a social setting it sometimes comes off wrong.

Deodorant is a great smell only.

It depends..
Although I think on a first date a little if not none is a good idea.
And like Deedee said, soap and shampoo smells are always good (as long as you use nice smelling ones)...especially for me, im a clean freak lol.
Theres nothing worse than going on a date and only being able to smell his cologne throughout the whole thing.... ;)

I know too many people who bathe in the stuff and it friggin wreaks.

A dude did this at the table next to us last night. My date made a comment about that....phew, it is good to go with one's first instincts

Don't know, didn't care. Al I know is that it wasn't me. Could have been Joop!

Just a tiny bit, not a too heavy cologne, you don't want to come across with to much of a Barry White vibe.

Ive been wearing kenith Cole black lately and Polo blue

A nice light scent is really nice on a man. If your cologne is in a spray bottle, try spraying in the air and walk under it as the mist falls. This will give you a nice light scent without going overboard. I believe one of the others in their post mentioned that light touch works best.

thats a waste..and i start grinning if i picture myself doing it...
personally right after i shave i spray some on my hand (2 sprays) rub em on my cheeks vigorously..
the smells mellows when ya rub as opposed to it being sharp..and kinda matures..

Ladies, are any of you familiar with Fierce by Abercrombie and Fitch?
What is it about that cologne that makes women jump a guy?! Seriously, it is very attractive to women!

I used to love it... nothing better than filling up the car. But that flick kind of ruined it all. :-\

It's because it smells lemony... and like squeaky clean!

Don't thank me yet! I watch all his movies... he's one of my favorite actors. But that flick is reeeallly depressing. The gas huffer thing is a strange addiction... you can buy it legally, but it's just as devastating as alcohol for the wrong person. Anyway, let me know what you think...
-
My two favs are Solo by Loewe and L'eau Dissey by Issey Miayki, the first is a bit heavier, not too sweet, but not too sharp either. The second is a lighter and fresher cologne, that's still not too sweet.

It must be some kind of aphrodisiac... Every single time I put on some of that stuff, I have women (friends, acquaintances, and strangers alike) leaning in and sniffing me. I think that the only guys who can pull off AnF clothes are gay dudes and high schoolers, but Fierce is just so good!

Haven't read your thread as I've been busy with builders for two days, but i'm posting anyways...
I hate perfume. I always say I'm allergic to it. Makes me sneeze.
I prefer soap and water, a bit of sweat and all those pheronomes, please !

Like when you wear his sweater... :)

A LITTLE bit of cologne can be VERY attractive.........you should only be able to smell it when you lean in close.
But, what's really nice is when you can still smell a hint of it on your pillow.....mmmmmmmmmmmm. ...LOL!!
D&G for men is my personal fave!

Dolce & Gabbana & Jean Paul Guethier all the way :) :) :)

I think only we women do that. :D
Personally, I hate it when guys spray fragrance on their clothes. It doesn't smell right, and rubs off on you when you hug them. Fragrance is meant to be applied to the skin, heat up and blend with the individual's chemistry to smell best.
