I know exactly what to sell....and do and what works best....just seeing were you guys are at and what you like..

I tried no explode long time ago, felt like I was just drinking a sugary fruit drink, no impact whatsoever. Same with celltech, I am ashamed to admit that I bought several containers of celltech in the past... What a rip off...

I'll play fair...
Fat Burning? LIPO-6 by Nutrex. Methyl RIPPED by NXCare Inc(I think) and RedLine DRINKS or capsules.
Gaining MASS? MuscleMilk by CytoSport, Size-ON by Gaspari and...I like UP YOUR MASS by MHP.
Also...carry 'bronchiodialators' like pure ephedrine hcl. Legal.

Muscletech products are definitely bad, but, EAS and Pinnacle are probably the worst based on my experience.
You are paying for marketing.
I'm pretty sure regardless of what people say on these boards everyone is using a protein powder and glutamine.

Yea. I hardly use supps but know what? Sell BEVERLY INTERNATIONAL stuff.
Go for fkn quality instead of MARKETING. People at the end of the day respect that. Check out Pride Nutrition.
www.pridenutrition.com
Educate everyone who walks in your door...tell them you can go with companies like MT and BSN because youknow it will sell like hotcakesbecause of the slick marketing they do HOWEVER...you arent about that. You're about getting the BEST and most effective supplements to your customers...not over-hyped and cleverly marketed commercial type products.

Snake Oil.
Seriously, Tom. Sell 'ephedrine hcl'. It's legal. Then tell your close customers to mix it with a NoDoz tab and a baby aspirin.
Straight up. Be the OPPOSITE of all GNC's or whatever els.
Just dont go th MuscleT/B$N route. Fawk those commercial snakes! Hey...even look into selling 'true protein' from Dante. I dont know if he distributes that way but what Im saying is...go for quality supps FIRST. Customer comes in looking for 'Gacik' tell them straight...we dont sell it. I wouldnt btoher...I could and take your money but know what? I'd rather sell based on integrity and put only what is REAL and what has stood the test of time on my shelves...not some clever slick marketed worthless products"
They'll respect that. Even the idiots who train chest on Monday nights and start out with bench pressing will get it and understand. Start a revolution.
-
you should have a book section or something like that where stupid people can buy books that teaches them about a good diet and good eating habits. that is more important than some pioece of shit mass gainer or fat burner (caffeine pills).
hope that helps.

VitargoCGL for a creatine as well.
Vitargo MIX.
I know...there isn't a GNC employee alive right now that doesnt rob and rip off their store daily. Sheesh!
Clothing? Not T-Michael. No way. NPC Wear? Ummm...maybe Iron Asylum? I have a good contact with the owner of Podapenza. www.podapenza.com Kind of cheesy but big sellers everywhere they go.
Here's a tip. Sell straight and plain INOSITOL powder. Hahahahaha...
HUGE profit margin selling that.

Hmmm......
Regarding fat-burners, I'd go with: Rev XP and Hydroxycut Hardcore.
Gaining Mass? That depends!!
If you're talking weight gainers: N-Large2, Mass Fuel.
MRPs: Myoplex, MET-Rx, or Meso-Tech.
RTDs: IsoPure, MET-Rx, ABB.
Protein powders: Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey (Gold Standard), Designer Whey, EAS MyoPro Protein
Creatine supplements: CELL-TECH, Phosphagen Elite, Size-On.
Miscellaneous: Anator P-70, Gakic, and Ultimate Nutrition Tribulus Terrestris.
-
pre workout superpump 250 post workout i mix size on and vitargo to get 100 grams of carbs

also carry American cellular Labs.... Hormones that work!!!!! Good!!!
-
Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
This from the guy telling people to use supplements that have "stood the test of time". You do realize that some of what you recommended has only been out on the market for 2 years or so (i.e. Size-On).
Of course, CELL-TECH has been around for nearly TEN YEARS. So, maybe your advice wasn't so bad after all.
It appears to me that you're jealous of those "commercial snakes", because they rake in the $$$$. If your precious Pride Nutrition did that, that would put it in the same category in which you lump BSN and MuscleTech. Of course, we'd hear no complaints from you, were that to happen.

Maybe, a certain supplement company should develop "POST-TECH". Then, you could use it and come up with an original take....for once.

There really aren't a whole lot of supps that are worth taking. Most are either straight-up snake oil, or at best over-priced over-hyped versions of moderately useful products that can be had a lot cheaper.
When you say supps are "part of the game", what you really mean is supps are the engine that drives money into bodybuilding, not that they are necessary or even useful for building quality physiques.
Which supps are necessary for building a quality physique? Absolutely none. (unless you're trying to be a pro or something, in which case the correct answer would be "none that you can buy legally")
Which supps aren't complete snake-oil? Very few.
Protein powder is probably the most useful supplement if you can't get your protein requirements from food, but it ain't steroids, it won't make you "hyooooge and ripppped" and for all practical purposes a cheap one is just as good as an expensive one.
Creatine has been shown to help you get an extra rep or two per set in the gym and will add water weight to your muscles, making them appear fuller, so it's somewhat useful, but again cheap is just as good as expensive, and everything else is hype.
Multivitamins aren't a bad thing to take whether you're a bodybuilder or not.
Glutamine and BCAA's have some scientific backing showing they reduce catabolism in natural trainees while dieting. I personally don't use them, but they probably couldn't hurt.
Ephedrine/Caffeine combos (Bronkaid plus Vivarin or noDoze) are the only scientifically-proven fat burners, and even they really aren't necessary... you'll only be shaving a week or two at best off your cut, although they are usefull as appetite suppressants and energy aids while dieting.
EVERYTHING ELSE is total scam-crap, period. Of course, it is the "everything else" that makes all the money for the folks in this "industry", right Tom? ;)
-
I personally like VPX NO Shotgun, Labrada Super Charge and Nitrix tablets. And I like RTD's ABB Extreme shake,On nighttime protein. And I don't do fat bruners as I'm pretty lean.
-
I could see it now...
MT INC throws in GinkoBiloba, Some B-Vitamins in a tablet...then market it with a Jay Cutler with a graduation cap on...with reading glasses holding a 'Quantam Physics' book looking all dilligent and studious and then have some hot blone in the backround all eye-balling him with claims like...
"Brain-Tech will make you 2784% smarter in 10 days...women LOVE a smart guy"
Hahahahaha!

And, the ultimate proof that it works would be a "Before" pic of your posts, followed by an "After" pic, in which you actually bring an original take that makes some sense, minus the "Me hate MuscleTech" routine.

If he has a magazine rack, that part is already covered. Somewhere among the ads, the gossip columns, the disgruntled former/would-be pro bodybuilder rants, and the silicone-stuffed, thong-clad por....(ahem)....fitness bunnies, there actually exists diet and nutritional information that can help folks reach their goals.
-
Goatboy, there is no scientific proof that glutamine does anything.
A big mac would give you more anabolic results

Fat Burning
1. ECA
2. Green Tea
3. MX-LS7
4. Lipo 6
Mass Building
1. Whey Protein ( Allmax, Yates, BSN, Beverley)

3. Glutamine
4. BCAA

Outright proof? No. Some positive studies? Yes. The overall evidence is equivocal. As I said in my post, I don't take it, and I don't feel ANY supplements are necessary to build a quality physique. But, I would not place it in the "total snake-oil" category as I would most supplements.
Hope this helps.

superpump 250......kaizen creapure creatine..........and oh yeah "TRIMSPA"!!!!! ;D ;D
-
hey tom,
im from australia...the prices here are a bloody rip off (eg- hyrdroxycut hardcore 120 pills is 70 us dollars, noxplode/cellmass 75 us dollars)
anyway i personally recomend stocking these items:
recomend people to use noi-xplode as their creatine and pre-workout kick, and work the angle that it works great with cell-mass after training. but recomend one if they cant afford both (probably no-xplode cos then they will physically feel the kick and want it again)
fat burner - hydroxycut hardcore, and i like thermoshred cos it gets rid of water but one bottle only lasts 17 days so it gets expensive i will only use it again when i am ripped.
hope that helps.
also for protien i buy a 5 kilo tub and relatively cheap local brand.
-
Yep Glutamine is a staple and a good protein powder..which ones do you like..
D
The only one I can stomach is Decadent Whey by Precision.
I think it used to be called Nature's Best.
Shit is delicious, it really tastes like a chocolate shake, mixes instantly and is low fat/carb.
-
if u had to choose one: bcaa's or glutamine?
im goin with bcaa's only cos all of this shit gets too expensive

$70? OUCH!!! That's rather painful for Hydroxycut Hardcore. Here, it averages $40-$45, though I've bought it for as little as $30.
ThermoShred is good. But, I don't care for the itchy scalp feeling I get from it.
-
Do your customers a favor and do NOT sell them free form L-Glutamine. It gets destroyed by HCl in the stomach. Only sell GLUTAMINE PEPTIDES.
-

Any amount for that stuff is "painful", since it's useless crap.

Gakic ownz all you scawny beeyotches.
-
As a diet aid/stimulant, Ergopharm AMP is hands down the best.
-
mcway,
that is why i buy online lol!
the only thing i buy in aus are my protien (cheap), multi-vitamins and fish oil. the rest is off the internet.

if you have to go use glutamine then go with the MHP
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/mhp/glutsr.html
12 hour time release

I can see why. I don't buy off the net, because I don't use a credit card. Plus, most of the supplement I use, I can get from Vitamin Shoppe or GNC for the same price or less.
-
1) oxandrolone,,trenbolone,,growth
2) dianabol,,testosterone,,nandrolone
Good choices. ;D ......But seriously which supps on the market do you like to use.....

yeah the only pain in the but is shipping time. it can take between 1 and a half to four weeks to recieve...cos customs always checks the packages which holds it up.
supps in aus are a rip off... if i had to pay aussie prices i would only use protien and maybe do creatine for a couple months per year.

I have heard that supps are expensive over there..No-explode,Noz supercharge by nutrabolics and VPX NO shotgun these are a few of my fave pre training supps.Nutrex CGL and cell mass I like for after training..
thx for the post mate

...I also wonder about L-glutamine

anytime .
good luck with ur store.
by the way... how essential are bcaa's? i used to ignore them but now im going to start taking them.
would u see them as an essential item....or more of a 'luxury' supplement?

Top Sellers for Jan 07 @ BB.com - December 06 was the same
1. Optimum 100% Whey Protein -
2. BSN NO-Xplode
3. Nutrex Lipo 6
4. BSN CellMass
5. CytoSport Muscle Milk
6. Universal Animal Pak <-- would love to see the fat profit margins on this shit lol (cheap vitamins in higher doses)
Current Best Sellers at Bulk Nutrition. No idea how they base this, seems odd. Venom and Amp are NOT major skus.
01. 100% Whey Protein - Gold Standard <--- sells well because its priced well, decent value
02. NO-Xplode <-- lol
03. 100% Whey Protein - Gold Standard
04. Venom Hyperdrive 3.0 <--- semi-novel, ok for a low stim. product
05. Amp <-- way underrated, cleanest, steady pre-workout energy you can get, fat loss = non-existant, appetite suppression is decent.
06. Idebenone Powder <-- Co-q10 analog, cheaper way of getting co-q10, getting popular, life extending crowd digs it too
07. Phenibut Powder <-- relaxing but pointless
08. Xtend <-- could go into why extra mega doses of BCAA dont even get used (but i wont)
09. Piracetam Powder <--- another nootropic
10. X-Factor <--- anything negated by fish oil = thrown out, also promotes inflammatory effect, debunked recently
The constants between just about any sites are ON and BSN-Xplode. Funny, because arginine and NO supplements are total horeshit (bogus).
Top Brands @ BB.com
1. Optimum - Number Of Products: 137
2. BSN - Number Of Products: 28
3. NOW - Number Of Products: 463
4. Higher Power - Number Of Products: 70
5. Universal - Number Of Products: 110
6. CytoSport - Number Of Products: 111
7. Nutrex - Number Of Products: 8
8. MuscleTech - Number Of Products: 65
9. EAS - Number Of Products: 93
10. AST - Number Of Products: 35
Top Fat Burners @ bb.com
1. Nutrex Lipo 6, 120 Liqui-Caps <-- good for OTC
2. MuscleTech Hydroxycut, 100 Capsules <-- garbage, ingredients are a joke
3. Universal Animal M-Stak, 21 Paks <-- lol makes no sense
4. Universal Animal Cuts, 42 Paks <-- least it has some stimulants in it
5. MAN Scorch, 168 Thermo-Caps <--- ok
6. Higher Power Caffeine, 120 Capsules
7. Syntrax Fyre, 120 Capsules <-- new, but ingredients are nothing special (and cheap)
8. S.A.N. Tight, 60 Capsules <-- decent
9. Viridis Labs Ephedra 5, 90 Capsules
Hilarious, MT's new hydroxy cut is pure shit - no benefit. The hype from the original still perpetuates. Nutrex is one of the best on the market though. Proves most people really dont know shit and cant decipher what really works and what doesnt based on ingredients.
"Muscle Builder" category @ BB.com
1. BSN NO-Xplode, 1.81 Lbs. <-- garbage (arginine is bogus)
2. BSN Nitrix, 180 Tablets <-- equally lame
3. SciFit Extra Strength HMB, 750mg/120caps <-- wtf? its almost as if it benefited from the name "extra strength" this is useless. Only thing I can attribute its success to might be the name. Its not ads, word of mouth or results...lol
4. MuscleTech Creakic, 180 Caplets <-- not surprised
This is just sad. You wonder why the industry gets no respect from the outside heh
-

Yep.
Makes me want to open an online store and sell useless crap supplements or something just because of all the kids and fools who will buy it.
-

Oral glutamine is useless you moronic pleb. You really need to do some research. There are no proven benefits. The final death blow is that you literally cant consume enough via GI to get blood levels up enough to matter (yes that includes peptides too). Dont take my word for it, anyone not selling it who knows dick will tell you the same.
IV on the other hand? That would be a revolution. The studies done on this with burn patients is what triggered the interest.
Try L-leucine. Protein (whey) + Carbs + L-leucine post-workout is the most effective thing a person can do besides using hormones.
p.s. dont bother posting pro-glutamine bastardized pubmeds or garbage science, ive seen them all.
Everyone should just save their money and use:
vitamins, fish oil, green tea (50% EGCG)
bump the vit d3 to 1000iu (or more), vitC at 2-3g/day
whey, egg whites (eggs are supremely underrated)
bulk l-leucine
creatine (clout or green magnitude are nice)
fiber if you dont get enough
if you want to splurge throw in some:
bulk beta-alanine
alcar + r-ala (no real muscle building benefit, just good for mind/body)
glucosamine / chondroitin -IF- you have joint issues or as a proactive effort
some of the new hormonal bumping things based on herbs/saponins can be interesting but its a minuscule increase at best
anything above and beyond this is going to require the involvement of exogenous hormones, sorry :{
in that case, best OTC legal oral steroid (at this time) is Epistane (I recommend Havoc). This is considering sides/results. Epistane has virtually none and its not overly hepatoxic like the others. You would be surprised with the results too.
This concludes supplements 101.

Get outa here with that 1980's ZMA junk science. You will get enough zinc & magnesium with a good (even mediocre) diet and vitamins. Only a deficiency could create an issue.
Sweet jesus you guys are killin me here.
File this one in the [ DEBUNKED ] cabinet.

dont get carried away there bud, can no one read the ingredients? ignore the fancy naming techniques
its just creatine, aminos (valine, leucine), Citrulline Malate, tyrosine, and CAFFEINE. CUTTING EDGE lol - these are all fine, im a fan of all of these. Im not paying a huge premium for them though. Buy BULK and get dosages that actually matter.
product has some useless arginine in it too (why exclude yourself from the craze). VPX knows better, but they also know the people buying dont. The whole "NO, arginine" thing has become a selling point for all you WWE watching, hungry man eating meat heads.
Hint: dont get your supplement advice form the people selling it (i.e. the industry)
EPIC TRUTH OF UNPARALLELED PROPORTIONS!!

The only person, who can determine which supplements you need, is....YOU!!! Not Alpine, Blockhead, me, or anyone else.
If a particular supplement is helping you reach your goals and you can consistently afford to use it, why on Earth would you stop using it? Because some folks on message board won't think you're "hardcore"? Because they think that a certain company's supplements (or supplements, in general) are useless?
How ridiculous is that!!
For instance, if you're way out of shape, you'll be on that accursed treadmill/bike for a long time, in your quest to whittle off that adipose tissue. Now, if you know you can get in shape faster by using a fat-burning supplement (i.e. Hydroxycut Hardcore), IN ADDITION TO your diet and training regime than you would by simply dieting and training....USE THE FAT BURNER!!!!
Same goes for the nutrition part. If you need extra calories, and you don't have to time to eat them all, drink some of them via protein powders (or MRPs).
At the end of the day, you have the final say. Shop around for good supplements. Hit the mom-and-pop stores, the online shops, and the commercial ones (GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, etc). Look for the best deals. And try out some items. If they work, keep using them; if they don't, DROP THEM and try something else.

The only person, who can determine whether or not you should be taking Strychnine is....YOU!!! Not Alpine, Blockhead, me, or anyone else.
If Strychnine is helping you reach your goals and you can consistently afford to use it, why on Earth would you stop using it? Because some folks on message board won't think you're "hardcore"? Because they and pretty much all of science think that a certain chemical (or rat poisons in general) is poisonous?
How ridiculous is that!!

"What does science know anyway?" lol good stuff MCWAY! I'm glad Goatboy caught it before your edit.
You're correct, what does science know? Nothin! I feel it workin! PLACEBO'D !
You sound like a religious man too. I bet you're a good Christian bodybuilder. Praise Jesus! Give me the strength for this last rep!
Pay no attention to me...
Keep buying you slack-jawed dolts! Ignorance drives the industry!
There are a very small number of good companies selling products that they KNOW work. Their ingredients are based on sound science and previous research. These are the companies I support. Still, they have to survive. I don't criticize them for selling certain products (such as NO). I also praise the innovators, the truly novel ideas. A few that come to mind: ErgoPharm, Avant, USPLabs (cissus is neat)...

Vasapro ephedrine! for cheaper than $25.00 for 48ct.

Beverly has managed to create a brand equity arround quality without the glitzy marketing. BUT, they are no better than any of the other top brands. Please prove me wrong...

First of all, I didn't use the "what does science know anyway?" quote. That's was Goatboy's blurb!
Secondly, I stand by what I DID say. D.L. has to find for himself what supplements work best for him and what's in his budget. In other words, he would have to use the old empirical science knows as "trial and error".
If it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy or "hardcore" that you don't use certain supplements (or don't use them at all), cookie for you.

It has nothing to do with being hardcore.
It's about not being a moron, educating yourself, and holding the industry to a higher standard.

"Not being a moron" i.e. using supplements that one personally has found to be effective, whether someone else like those supplements (and the companies that make them) or not.
And what are you going to do if, say, MuscleTech doesn't live up to your standard? Hold your breath until you turn blue? Have a temper tantrum?

How fucking retarded are you?
You cant base supplement use on "what someone has said about it". Just because someone "likes" liquid creatine serum doesn't mean its a valid option. I see logs and reviews and rants and raves about shit that is absolutely bunk all the time. The placebo effect is a strong thing. Half the people arent even educated enough to decipher real effects from perceived ones. With every supplement that has fallen to the wayside because it was proven 100% worthless there were an army of followers and believers.
You have to base supplement use on science & research, previous studies, and in cases where there is none, a few key industry insiders or chemists who are willing to tell the truth. New things are interesting, I must admit its fun to try novel and unique compounds that have some promise. I just criticize the overpriced "formulations" that contain nothing more than simple ingredients that can be bought for pennies...Half of which dont even work. BSN NO Xplode comes to mind.
Now stop replying, you're clearly a dunce. Let this thread RIP. Some customers might read it.

It appears that we now have another guinea pig for "BRAIN-TECH", namely you.
For every study you find that say a certain supplement works, you'll likely find another one that says it does not.
Plus, you're talking out BOTH sides of your mouth, as you're recommending that other people use (or not use) certain supplements, based on what YOU'RE saying about them.
Let's say someone tries one of the precious supplements about which you've been singing the praises and find that it doesn't work that well for him. Let me guess!! You're going to beat him upside the head with a scientific journal, yelling and screaming, "But, but, but Dr. Quackenshmitt say this stuff works; so you keep using it!!!!"
And, lost in all your pointless blubbering, is the simple fact that, at no point, did I disagree with you, regarding the scientific research of a particular item.
What I said (and what'd you'd likely understand, if your comprehension switch were in the "on" position) was that, even if someone did look up the studies, at the end of the day, he STILL has to try it for himself to see how effective it is for him. And if it is, he should keep using it, whether somebody else like that supplement or not.

how often are you "really out of shape"? :-\
i took a couple years break from bodybuilding...so my bodyfat got high from not being so active, drinking alcohol three times per week, and not eating very clean.
back in the day when i trained heavy for two years str8 i had some bad eating habits and i would yo-yo diet...i would get ripped, but do it so drastically, that i would get sick of dieting, eat junk and then gain fat (thats when i would use a thermogenic to help), and then get ripped again. so over two years i would be 'out of shape' or higher bodyfat two or three times out of the 24 months.
now i dont do that crap anymore....i have a stable diet and i never drink!
