Last week Dave said that Ed was going to be on the show and he wasn't. I think Dave uses the same post every week and changes the guests, but that was low, even for him, to lie about Ed being on last week.

As for Kim Chambers, the times that I have met her, she is a very nice person, but labeling her as a porn star and putting Kim on a bodybuilding show is creating the problems that perhaps you need to rethink what kind of show it is. Kim also competed in a number of figure competitions out here in California, and is an avid photographer. Labeling her, especially here, is one thing that many people would'nt like.

If you can't have fun with it, then it becomes boring; and, in my opinion, THAT'S WHY IT'S NOT MAINSTREAM. It's because, our industry as a whole takes ourselves too goddam seriously. We think we're so freakin' important. When we learn to laugh at ourselves and drop the "body armour" muscle-bound persona, we'll "open" ourselves up to the rest of the world. The overwhelming response to his radio show has been extremely negative. People are claiming they are never going to listen again, they are disgusted with the guests and think the show has went into the gutter. With all of that being said, Dave claims that's where he wants the show. So, he wants overwhelming negativity and disgust concerning his show? I am left to conclude either he is a few cards short of a deck or he is simply squirming and trying to make excuses for the poor performance of the show in recent weeks.
Never in my life have I heard a tv or radio executive say.."Hey guys..Guess what..Our ratings are in the gutter and everyone is telling us that our show sucks..Keep up the good work!"
I couldn't have said it better!! Remember when I pissed you all off with my editorial dissing the boards? Well, that is how you guys earned my respect. My assistant has combed the boards for me - GetBig, Mayhem, and BB.com for a little over two years now. Out of all the info she has gathered for me on the pulse of this hing we do, GetBig has BY FAR out paced the other boards. Some say you guys are too brash or rude and crude, but I say, "if you can't stand the stink get the f**k out of the gym." Bodybuilding - HARDCORE bodybuilding - is made up of bad-ass dudes, some with tattoos, scars, and facial hair, who speak in expletives and aren't afraid to tell someone they suck if that's the truth. Keep it hardcore and keep it real. At least back in the day, that's what it was all about. I trained in Venice CA at Golds and/or World gym from 1979 to 1999 when I left the country. That was hardcore, that was head strong, that is what it missing in almost every gym in the country today because they all turned into "health clubs." But not here. That's why I like this place. That's why I have chosen to participate here and no other board - except of course when our MD boards go up. Then I'll straddle. There will always be exceptions and the odd asshole, but for the mot part, you guys make me feel like I did back in the day. I think there is some real talent here. I can't tell you how many times I've laughed my ass off reading threads here, or learned something, or gotten a perspective I hadn't thought of. Yawn elsewhere. So, yes, I am serious. 500 words or less, every month in Romano Factor, I will dedicate to the offering you guys contrive and you guys choose. I would like to see someone representing. However, it is all up to you. Perhaps it could be like a contest each month? Everyone gets a turn? Vote a member to contribute? It is all up to you. I need it by the 15th of each month - that's the only rule. Well, almost. I am going to have to retain the right to refuse anything that will piss off advertisers too much, it can't be too nasty, and no one gets hurt. And I will be very lenient. So, have at it. Crap...Utter crap. This show was horrible.
I like John. He is outspoken with well thought out editorials and articles.
I like Dave. Experienced, knowledgable, some medical education adds to his credibility.
I even like Gregg...up to a point. Can be funny when he isn't stuck on the same tired jokes (Mercedes, trannies, creatine blasts, etc) we have already heard a billion times. He has good stories from the old days. He knows lots of people and funny stories. That is when he is at his best, IMHO.
But this show was terrible. So bad that I don't even think I will listen any more.
You guys aren't Stern. Stop trying to be him. If you want to do the entertainment thing, more power to you. But without Larry, you guys have demonstrated a complete inability to mix serious BB talk with the comedy schtick. Gregg's hour-long borderline racist routine completely ruined the episode by mixing his minstrel show garbage with an attempt at serious subject material. He is like a guy who tries to tell jokes at a funeral. There is a time and place for that kind of humor, but I don't want to hear it when I am listening to LT give me serious analysis.
Dave, you can take all this criticism and wear it as a badge of honor if you want. But you have lost a listener and possibly a subscriber to the MD website. I'll still buy the mag at the newsstand, but I think I will give up on the MD.com experiement in leiu of other, more experienced websites. Your job, at it's heart, is to deliver customers to your advertisers. You just lost me as a potential patron to your sponsors. You are probably going to lose my $14.99 monthly subscription, but I haven't decided on that yet. If you want locker room banter, porn stars and the like, go for it. But don't try to position your show as anything remotely serious. And for fucks sakes, stop starting every episode with a weather report from your respective locations. Who gives a f**k? Seriously. And stop talking over your guests and each other. I don't know if that is a technical glitch and you all can't hear each other but it sounds seriously unprofessional.
I had high hopes for No Bull radio and the whole MD website. But I am not impressed, informed, or entertained. The other BB websites and radio shows do it better. I haven't given up hope yet, but only because I do respect the work that you and John have done before in the magazine. I really hate to heap all of this criticism on you but I hope it is considered constructive and not bashing. The segment with the orthopedic surgeon was excellent and is the type of content I was hoping to hear on No Bull radio. You can have separate podcasts and separate Valentino's comedy and shock material from the serious news, training, nutrition, etc. When you try to mix it all together is when the wheels fall off of the bus.
