Title: Do Vegas sportsbooks lay odds on bodybuilding contests?
Post by: ribonucleic on February 15, 2007, 10:11:33 AM
Given the, ah, "unpredictability" of the judging, I suspect it would be too high risk for them.

I doubt there would be enough interest in it to make it worth it...maybe for the Olympia you could find some

They don't at Ceasars Palace.  Was just there last weekend and they didn't have anything for bb.

I did look as I was putting some money on NBA Games.

As I feared.

Really, this is about as stinging an indictment of the sport as any hatchet job in Sports Illustrated. Sports bettors are some of the most degenerate gamblers in the world. They'll wager on anything. If even they don't care who wins the Olympia, it's safe to say that - as far as the "real world" is concerned - no one cares.

[And as long as I'm bitching about SI, WTF were they thinking putting that no-talent cooze on the cover of the Swimsuit Issue? I've bought every one for the last 22 years, despite its ever-decreasing quality, but this year I boycott.]

I'm with you on that, wtf. It was more of a photoshop spectacular, and it still did not look good.
