We have only one lock in our door, we don't have to fear our neighbors, we don't hear any gunfire during a night and we can walk in our cities with totally safe in any time of a day or night. I have a 2800sqft house on the golf course in San Marcos, CA, I never lock my back door and my neighbours are both welcome to come in my sunroom to use the home gym anytime they want. Actually, Finland allied itself with Nazi Germany only for the purpose of expelling the Russians who had invaded their country. Finland was never a part of WWII. They were fighting the Russians solely as first, a defensive measure, then, to expel the Russians from Finnish territory. When they achieved that aim, they told the Nazis to leave. Finland was the only country allied with the Germans to remain a free constitutional republic. They were allied with the Germans solely out of neccessity as the western powers (U.S., Britain) would give them no aid against Russia which was their ally. The story of the Winter War and the Continuation War is one of great courage and triumph in the face of overwhelming odds. At one point the Ribbontrop came to meet with the Finns about the "Jewish problem", meaning the Nazis wanted Finland to turn their Jews over to them. The Finns simply told the Nazis "We have no Jewish problem" and refused and the Nazis couldn't do a damn thing about it.

I just can't stop wondering how arrogant you americans can be. Of course, there seems to be few exceptions on this board, who actually seem like normal people. But let's take a look at BSB's comments. First of all, why is it that you have to laugh at your own comments? Is it because no-one else think they're funny?

I've been working as a substitute teacher for 11-years-old kids here in Finland, and even they could point ANY country i asked from the world map. At least EVERY finn knows where the country they had war with, is :D

29% thought it is between 500million and 750million
I was having this same discussion about america and europe at youtube. It was really funny when the american guy said to me: "even though we might be a country filled with different personalities, atleast we dont pull out of a warzone because your KING's son is about to go there as well." Now, this apparently is about England's prince Harry joining the troops. Anyway, i was curious about the king thing.
I asked him, since when have Finland had a king? :D And, if he was talking about England, since when have ENGLAND had a king?! :D
After that, the same guy writes a statement: "No wonder you lived under kings, dictators and tyrants for the last thousand years :)"
Let's see: we have a woman as a president. Yeah, she's a real tyrant :D Besides, even if we had ever lived under "dictator", at least WE don't live under dictator anymore ;) Only people like americans are stupid enough to elect the same dumbass as their leader, not only once, but TWICE!
But, as i said, there seems to be a few smart americans here too.

Nice point. We have something like 174 homicides a year for average. In USA you have 88 649(year 2006) firearm related deaths per year, something like 20 000 homicides etc. You guys don't know how to handle your guns. Compared to our amount of homicides, you have over 600 deaths while cleaning a loaded gun. How cool is that?
