I'm new to powerlifting. I have been competing in Bodybuilding for the past 5 years and have grown bored with it. I would like to compete in some Powerlifting meets in my area. I have a question though. When you compete in a meet, do you have to do all 3 disciplines or can you only do one, say the deadlift, if you wanted to just focus on that. Thanks.

Most Powerlifting Federations offer FULL POWER - which is Squat/Bench/Deadlift for a combined TOTAL of your best lift from each.
They also have what they call a PUSH/PULL for a TOTAL.
They have Bench only
**They have Deadlift only.
Check out www.apa-wpa.com to see if they have a MEET scheduled in your area.
