I guess dressing up in fake mustaches and leisure suits and doing laps around the apartment complex is a good cardio day for some.
-
well that would be pretty easy to do since that video sucks. or does it have to be a better video in your opinion?

THe scary thing is that shit is fucking 14 years old now.
Nirvana broke big in 1991 which is 16 years ago
Feel old yet ;D
Another sad thing is, not to be a "back in my day" kinda guy, but that was the last time that there was a great deal of good music around.
If you like rock.

That Prodigy video has a nice ending...
Here are a few cool ones. Not so much pre-gym motivation, just worthwhile.
- The Perfect Drug.
Makes me think of working out, being at the gym - the pump. Vanity is the perfect drug. Mother natures opiate.
This video & song are also pretty neat. I find these NIN tracks make just about any video that much better.
<-- amazing... was displayed on a huge screen at their shows on tour
<-- interesting fact based Mars rover animation
<-- this song is badass. You may recognize it from "300" trailers.
Here is some of the new stuff. http://symphonyofnoise.com/nails/yearzero/
Check out #6...pretty unique.
Be looking out for the new album. Trent is basically giving the whole thing away free online @ perfect 320lkbps mp3 in a A.R.G. consisting of hidden sites and messages for his true fans. Essentially saying, "here is my work, support me if you like it." Pretty rare these days. Especially since its guaranteed to sell extremely well.

I thought NIN was really, really good stuff when it first came out.
But it now sounds dated IMO, that sound came and went.

You haven't listened to the latest stuff. Its a totally different sound than the "more popular" tracks on the mid 90's and even the the later stuff. It's hard for me to even imagine a band that has EVOLVED in sound as much as NIN has. There are MANY music critics who have mentioned NIN's evolution of sound. No other genre is capable of morphing and adapting so drastically and quickly.
The Downward Spiral era: 1994 - 1998 sounds much different than The With Teeth era: 2005 - 2007 and almost nothing like the the new Zero Year era stuff. You clearly don't know what you are talking about. You may have grown tired of the electronic sound. But it has definately not stagnated or "come and gone." I think your comments may be based on most of the sounds from The Fragile era: 1999 - 2004. In that case, I can somewhat agree...
Its been a pleasure informing you.

I just listened to "Survivalism" off the new stuff and I'm not trying to be a dick but it sound the same as any other NIN I've heard. maybe i'm missing something I dunno

Im afraid I do agree with that. Nine_Inch_Nails-Survivalism-(Promo_CDS)-2007-SAW
I was very disappointed with this track. I guess they selected it because they thought the mainstream public would accept it better. It's not really a step forward...
Check this site out. http://symphonyofnoise.com/nails/yearzero/ It's a compilation of tracks Trent has "leaked" to the fans who have been following the secret pages and stuff.
#6 is amazing and very unique. It really gets into gear at about 40% completion. I also liked #8 a lot.
Perhaps you aren't a true fan of this genre. It's definatly an acquired taste. It has also cooled off in popularity recently. It's not "new" or "shocking" anymore. I get the distinct feeling Trent would rather pack up and retire for good before he let his work stagnate or stop evolving. It's not about money anymore. It's about the message. Why do you think he's giving it away...
<-- worth watching (from original post)
Maynard and Trent are two of the most important artists of our time.

Tool is good music.
PS all music is equally important.
a 7 year old girl thinks Drake Bell is just as important as you think Trent is. It's all relevant

Ya you're right. Drake Bell wants to change society with his message. He's also giving away his music so that more hear the message.
If you compare the two again, I'll cut you.....deep. :D
-
nine inch nails - gave up
dry kill logic - paper tiger
dimmu borgir - puritania ULTRA badass song, not the best video
marilyn manson - the beautiful people
mastodon - march of the fire ants
system of a down - sugar
static x - push it
machine head - davidian
just a sampling

You missed the point.
From what I know of NIN, Trent is a pretty miserable dude, is this the IMPORTANT MESSAGE you speak of? and how is it more important than Drake Bell making teeny-boppers happy?
