Baghdad - US forces launched air strikes in southeast Baghdad on Saturday, Iraqi officials said, as a series of massive explosions rocked the war-torn city.
"American aircraft are bombarding terrorist targets that have been chosen by US and Iraqi forces, as part of our Baghdad security plan," said Brigadier-General Qasim al-Mussawi, spokesperson for the operation.

it’s a sign that a war is out of your control, when you are reduced to bombing the very city that is supposed to be the heart of your command and the “best secured” area of the country.

most of you guys blame the wrong person
if the yankees loose a game because joe tore brings in the wrong pitcher,,its not george steinbreners fault

if the yankees loose a game because joe tore brings in the wrong pitcher,,its not george steinbreners fault
I like this analogy. However, to be accurate, it would have to read like this...
George Steinbrenner decided that the key to winning the World Series was to have every batter swing for a home run. Buck Showalter pointed out that this was stupid and wouldn't work. So Steinbrenner fired him and replaced him with Joe Torre, who was willing to coach the players to do what Steinbrenner said. And even after a number of Yankees players had their careers ended by being forced to play in this stupid and unworkable style, Steinbrenner would say things to reporters like "We're not winning, but we're not losing."
Now who would you blame for this state of affairs? Joe Torre? Or George Steinbrenner?

Another sign you're losing the war...
When you're so desperate for warm bodies that you send troops into combat without sufficient training.
