Title: "Calling attention" to a problem
Post by: 240 is Back on February 28, 2007, 06:13:23 PM
On an ealier thread, an astute member shared his belief that one of the great things Bush has done is:

3.  Calling attention to the immigration problem.

Can someone please share what the criteria is for "calling attention" to problems?  I mean, just bitching about it?  Talking about need for action?

Can I mention the impotent nature of calling attention for something, then doing nothing, even though you have a blank policy check for making changes?

"Calling attention"????

Hey, I believe people should stop stealing, killing, raping, etc.  Can I have a cookie for "calling attention"?  You little pompous, crybaby, underserved-praise-giving wussies.

"My approval rating is 32%? ...

Look over there! An immigration problem!"

Hope this helps.

Do I also need to point out that the reason the "immigration problem" isn't correctly described as the "illegal hiring problem" is because corporations make political campaign contributions and Mexican construction workers don't?

i know this:  if all the illegals left our country we'd have a big problem economically for a while

To be fair, the Dems suck on this issue too... It seems like a hot potato nobody wants to touch.
