The war on Terror is the war for global resource securement.

Also it's a good way to refill the coffers of the military industrial complex after that lean season they had under Clinton, who didn't like war.

Arnold knows this, but wants to keep momentum for his secretary of ____ position he wants under mccain in 2008.

Clearly, Arnold can tell which way the shit-stench is blowing. So now he's abandoning ship with all the other rats to preserve his political viability.

He has a business degree, he's a kennedy, his name opens door.  Worst case, ambassador to Austria.  Best case, undersecretary of energy.
