Title: reverse pyramid set scheme
Post by: Knives on March 01, 2007, 11:03:14 PM
would this work effectively at building mass?

(all sets except warm up done to failure)
warm up sets
1 set of 5 reps
1 set of 8 reps
1 set of 12 reps
1 set of 20 reps

Should work. The only proviso is that with a descending pyramid like this do you really want your first intense set to be the heaviest, only 5 reps? Good recipe for future injury..

well if you do a heavy set at the end, won't you be tired, and therefore unable to complete the set as opposed to if you did the heaviest set first?
