Amazing!!!! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time thinking Randy was gonna get dropped. I never could have expected this outcome but I put money on Randy anyways. What was up with his striking and head movement? This has to have been his best stand-up I've ever seen. I am worried Crocop will finish him but Randy has accomplished so much he can lose and still be the great admired fighter he has always been. Glad to see Franklin win also... little disappointed in Hughes performance but he got the win.

Hughes could eat cheese all day. It's no different seeing him fight, and watching 2 people play street fighter 2 with someone pinned in the corner. He's no champ. He's a chump that cheeses his way to victory. It's not even interesting to see him fight and that's why he won and still got booed to hell tonight. As far as Randy goes, he's the Jordan of the game still learning, and applying at age 43. If Silvia looked bad, it's not cause he wasn't prepared, it's cause Randy knew what he was doing and had all the answers to make him look bad, so eat shit haters. Hey I love Randy as much as the next guy, but he is far from the most technical HW fighter. His striking, although it look good against Tim, is far from technical. He did use a good peakaboo structure to enter and throw an overhand, left hook combo seven times that reached it's mark. Tim should have realized he was counterpunching off of his weak jab and thrown a cross or right hook. Randy's ground work is hardly stuff of legend as well. What he is good at is his clinch game, and the ability to push the pace. I think Mirko is tailor made to beat Randy. I would love to see Randy get the win against Mirko, but I certainly wouldn't put money down on him. I attended a Straightblast Gym seminar with the Natural years ago, and he truly is a wonderful human being.

Randy's Striking has improved but he is no Crocop and I really hate saying that. Whoever said CC is overrated will be eating their words soon enough although I will have my fingers crossed in Randy's favor.

If we can trust Dana , Mirco/Randy will somewhere in UFC 71/72, I doubt it that we are going to see Mirco/Werdum before that, but you never know what Dana might come up with....wuldnt be surprised to see Silvia/Mirco before that. If Mirko and Werdum both win, (I am assuming they will), then Randy fights Mirko at 71, and if Mirko wins, he would defend against the number one contender. ....one thing I know for sure is that the UFC HW division is getting way more exciting than what it used to be ...with Mirko coming , Randy the new champ and a few other possible Pride fighters coming ..there is a lot going on in the HW class. One person I want to see back in action is Monson, but his contract is done and I doubt it Dana would sign with him again...

Anybody think Arlovsky will get another title shot in the near future? What sort of scenarios do you guys see unfolding with him involved? Obviously, he's not on the level of Mirko by a long shot but I always thought Arlovsky had good striking and a respectable ground game to stay a consistent contender in the UFC.

That's why Crocop got owned by Randleman, and McDonald in K-1. He's good, but not great. Sure if u make your career off of throwing Haymakers, of course you're bound to catch a couple of good fighters and look good, but he lacks in other areas and those areas is what makes a great MMA fighter.

I reckon the biggest difference for Randy facing Crocop will be the head kicks. If Sylvia had tried putting a few out there, it would have kept Randy guessing and maybe stopped Sylvia from taking so many combo's. He just didn't do enough to keep Randy at arms length, and was unwilling to take any risks for fear of being caught.

His recent losses were to people who kept it on the feet. Josh Barnett destroyed Randy, and Mirko beat him twice, convincingly.

If you are a Ricco fan, you must know how slick his game is (most JJ Machado students are). It is more leveraged and angles based than strength/athleticism. Right after college when i was done with wrestling I wanted to get into mma ....there were 4-5 different Gracie's schools in the area where I live I none of them had no gi classes so i kept loking until i found what i was looking for ...of coure that's my opinion...many people would disagree with me , probably you as a grcie boy will do too.....

I hate it when people assume that just because a fighter lost to one who was beaten by another means they cant win, different styles are made to fight certain fighters, mirko can beat randy stand up no problem period. can randy take mirko to the ground? everytime yes he could pull king kong to the floor. fact is until we see exactly where each fighter wants to take the fight you cant make an accurate assumption on who will win at this level of fighter.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that Randy can, or will beat Crocop. I think it's impressive how Randy came out with a tight game plan against Silvia, and applied it, but the chemistry between CC and Randy is bad for Randy, unless he learns how to defend and overtake CC on the ground. Which I believe he is capable of doing, and learning. He's a legend and it wont be a blowout like everyone says, but CC is still a big favorite to win IMO.

Our school, which is a Relson Gracie affiliate does Gi and nogi. Training in the gi makes you more aware of many submissions that are possible, and their defenses. I have competed only in nogi competitions, and have won on submission in two of my last three matches. I wouldn't have been aware of one of them had I not trained in the gi. BTW, Relson Gracies teams have done the best in sub grappling in Hawaii for some time now.

Mirko's takedown defense is much better than Tim's. Fujita, Coleman, Randleman, had a tough time taking CC down. Most can't keep him there, particularly with stand ups the UFC seems to prefer. Just because Randy took Tim down, you shouldn't ASS-UME that he will do the same to Mirko. And for the record, I want Randy to win. Remember, Randy had a tough time taking Chuck to the ground in fights two and three. Mirko has better standup, movement, and just as good a takedown defense. Did I mention he has power in his hands and feet?

There is a reason Tim Sylvia did not kick much. It would only make it easier for Randy to take him down, which he did do after one kick.

i can not see him lasting very long with crocop..randy will get ko'd if he fights him..i do want to give randy props for the way he demolished silvia and i think that was the best randy we've ever seen! i love randy,he is a great guy and fighter,but he will not be able to handle crocop..in fact,crocop will retire randy via a brutal ko..

I don't think Cro Cop is overrated at all but his OWGP win was overrated
he fought 3 non heavyweights in minowa (what was he thinking entering the owgp :o) Yoshida and Wandy
then he beat a tired barnett
barnett had to go through aleks, hunt, and noguira to make it to the finals
cro cop defintly had an easy road to the finals

I'd like to see cro cop up against Silvia before they put him in front of randy. He would take whatever silvia had left and completly demolish him...

Busted up my shoulder pretty bad when it got caught in someones belt. I have been out for two weeks from training, on anti inflamatory drugs, doing PT. Will be in LV in May for another convention.
