WORSE OLYMPIA EVER ... dont let anyone say different, I DUBB THEE 82 MR. O THE WORSE OF ALL TIME ...2007 looks like it will give it a run for its money ..(just like 2006 did)

Bertil was by far the closest to the modern physique.
Why didn't he ever place higher?
-
From those pictures, Bannout shoud have won.

You know I said the same thing ! I personally think Samir looks better

Bertil didn't place higher probably because of politics, more more importantly because the public (or Joe Weider) wasn't ready for that kind of size. If Bertil placed higher at the size he carried there, he would have set a bar that ALL other competitors would have to reach. So, instead of that happening, Bertil showed up 25-30 pounds lighter the following year to compete with the lightweights.
Lee Haney changed that in 1984 and made it acceptable for guys to not look like Zane.
My favs from the 82 were Bertil, Casey and Mohammed Makkawy.
