From "SI""
"Victor Martinez, winner of the latest Ohio bodybuilding competition named for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, all showed up on a client list of Applied Pharmacy, a Mobile, Ala., company raided in connection with the investigation".
"Soares, (Albany County DA),acknowledged that Martinez was an "unindicted co-conspirator" in the case and is linked to the Lamperts' Anti-Aging Centers. Martinez won the Arnold Classic bodybuilding competition Saturday in Ohio.
"A spokesman for Schwarzenegger said he wants bodybuilders to stop using steroids".
"He's clearly opposed to these steroids," said Aaron McLear. And he's working with top officials in the bodybuilding community to come up with a system where they rid the sport of steroids."
"Martinez told The New York Times he bought testosterone from the Lamperts after their clinic told him he had low levels of the hormone. He also said the company asked him to become a partner, but he declined".
"I didn't trust them, and other people were warning me not to do business with them," he told the Times"
"Calls placed by The Associated Press to Jim Lorimer, a bodybuilding promoter and co-creator of the Arnold Classic, were not immediately returned".

"A spokesman for Schwarzenegger said he wants bodybuilders to stop using steroids".
Wow, Arnold. If only you were this adamant when you were taking steroids. ::)

Arnold was natural... :-X

The media disgusts me. If it was called the John Doe classic, this would be a non-story and vic would be just one of thousands of people never mentioned.

what is factually untrue in that quote?

nothing. their using arnold's name to sell papers, and what looks like vic being pursued over all these other folks because of that snapshot with arnie, is what disgusts me.
-

Why are you complaining when the media is doing their job?
Journalists should always strive to investigate hypocrisy among the persons in power.
Arnold is no exception.
We have to realise that it's not always "our" guys have a clean sheet. A good investigative journalism will help keep everyone honest, minimize corruption.

Not sure if anyone saw the article on espn.com, but said martinez stated was getting roids for low testosterone, diagnosed by a dr, so test is low so can't weigh 280lbs in the off season, hell my test is low then.
-
I dont see why Arnold shouldn't be held to accountable for his hypocrisy. Arnold is no moral compass for society and it is beyond me how he is now running the government making legislative decsisions and dictating how we should live our lives. If he is going to tell us how to live then he better be leading a clean life, unfortunatley he never has. This guy is a joke and any of you guys who keep promoting have been seduced.
-
Vic HAD to know he was in the Fed's crosshairs...
Hey...but what's a guy to do? He's a Professional Bodybuilder... :(
-
The funniest thing is for Arnold to be saying crap like, "Oh, these steroids are bad. i don't like my competitors to be using them. They should be banned." LOL. Sure Arnie. And you only took them in small doses for the three weeks before a contest to "maintain" ::)

Check this link out.

it says that Arnold has never heard of Victor Martinez's arrest on steroids distribution in 2004....hahaha. Great, then 2+2=15

McLear said that Schwarzenegger "has been in conversations with the top officials in bodybuilding to come up with a system by which they can test their athletes more comprehensively, and that's ongoing."
The organization "embarrassed Arnold over the weekend" by putting the former seven-time Mr. Olympia in a situation in which he presented a top award to a competitor with a troubled history, he said. "What the bodybuilding community doesn't realize is that if they keep embarrassing Arnold like this, he won't be in the sport," DeMilia said.
oh great, this is all bullshit at it's best

Wow, Arnold. If only you were this adamant when you were taking steroids. ::)
There's a difference between TAKING steriods and ABUSING them. Most of you on here are too stupid to figure that out, however.
-
ANY idea what a "unindicted co-conspirator" is? ???
Yes!
It is used to get around hearsay. By naming him as an unindicted co-conspirator, the Police can use what he said out of court, in court among other things. They can also use him in future investigations.
Victor is somewhat of a rat.

If it was called the John Doe classic, this would be a non-story and vic would be just one of thousands of people never mentioned.
And if Britney Spears lived in a trailer park, no one would care that she went psychotic on coke and shaved her head.
But she doesn't, so they do.
It's a celebrity culture. I can live with it.
-
Thanks, Jezebelle...
That doesn't mean that Vic is not in some form of trouble (or could be), does it?
It CERTAINLY seems like he will not be defending his title.
That's regrettable.Vic has worked hard. (Which I'm sure will not gain much sympathy from a lot of individuals involved in his gym fiasco).

Whether you "take" them or "abuse" them, steroids are steroids - period!
Where does your logic fit in? ::)
-
Victors been a rat for years now, no surprise here

Shawn, are you listening? ;D
-
If Victor keeps getting his name in the paper, he can kiss the Sandow goodbye. It may be already too late, why would the IFBB risk their pot of gold on the poster boy for illegal steroids.

He's not doing the Olympia this year anyway..
