Periodically someone starts a thread here asking what magazines people read and most people use it as an opportunity to bash existing magazines.
So let me ask...what do you guys want from a magazine that the current mags might not be giving you at this moment?
I'm gonna guess contest coverage and gossip isn't all that important becase the internet gets it to you YESTERDAY and the mags get it to you 2-3 months after the fact.

Fitness hos and plenty of them.

Go buy a porn magazine dipshit

How about more timely publishing?
Cause I love reading about the Olympia or Arnold Classic 2 months after the show.

The soonest a magazine seems to be able to get contest coverage out is a month and a half after the fact if not longer. Certain magazines go to print on the first but don't hit newsstands until the 27th or so. So if contest coverage is going to be 2-3 months after the fact, do you still want to see it?

Would you guys be willing to pay $15-20 for a single issue sans advertisements? What if it was a quarterly?
-
of course i will, i know its impossible to remove all the has cause they need to make money, but they can remove all the bullshit ads........... damn there will be nothing left :-\

They shouldn't recycle the same garbage over and over. I really like the questions section for pros in MD's magazine and i like little tid bit articles about what nutrients are good for you and what recent studies are showing etc... without all the shit and filth. I think the language in MD's mag is a bit much. They try to hard to be hardcore and they always over hype shitty physiques. I don't mind the advertisments too much though. They make excellent toilet paper.

Do you ever get bored of reading what so-and-so supposedly does for biceps or chest every month? I say supposedly because most of the guys in the magazines don't write their own columns. They call them in to a writer who writes them up, dresses them up, or when so-and-so turns out not to be reliable about deadlines, makes them up. Personally I'd rather see different athletes answering different questions every month.

Thats what i am talking about. I like the mail in questions from readers to the pros. Very entertaining to read in my opinion.

You know what would sell real number as far as mags go?.. the fucking TRUTH..
real honest shit, diets, stacks, workouts.. not exaggerated b.s like FLEX.. but real world truth.
:)
also, I think contest coverage is a waste of paper in mags.. nobody that buy mags really cares.

That too... They should go in depth about health problems and inform the public.

Yeah, cut them down,
And stop repeating articles in Flex from Muscle and Fitness from months earlier.
Every magazine is a recycle. There is hardly anything new, and when 1 new study comes out, they say it is gospel and don't wait for other ones comes reprove their theories.

I got my first issue of Musclemag and I enjoyed the training articles.
But it seemed like there were a lot of "SPECIAL 4 PAGE AD ALERT" and that garbage.
-
i just got kaged tonight. pwns just about anything out there.
-
Training tips, uncensored articles from any given pro, contest coverage (pics, review, backstage info, comments from pros), nutrition tips, upcoming 'stars' section where it previews guys from NPC or new pros, less product advertisements.

Im not saying it doesnt but you do design the web page lol. :)

lol yeah, so i'm obviously biased. but it's very cool to see a BBing mag not by one of the big companies. I wish there were 10 or 20 small bodybuilding mags popping up each year - keeps things new and keeps the big mags on their toes.

Is kaged at any retailers yet or just online?

Contest coverage and gossip were the entire point of the magazines. The internet has taken away their reason for existing. The only people who still buy them are fags needing spank material and kids dumb enough to think they can get useful advice on how to get "hyooooooge" from them.
