There are always exceptions to such rules and I know it for a fact.

Among the men who do cheat, I'd say it depends on a lot of circumstances, the primary one being the relationship they're in isn't as fulfilling as it could be and ought to be.

I think kiwi is correct. Something important is missing from the relationship he is in so he looks elsewhere. It isn't safe or nice, but people are sometimes weak and they don't always do the right thing.
