a) Why pay for outdated contest results when I can get results with more and better pictures the day after the contest and a month before the magazine comes out?
b) Why read recycled training routines that I could find for free on a dozen websites OR ask more experienced lifters here abouts?

the Q&A sections with experienced bodybuilders by itself is wroth the price and then some (not talking about the stupid Q&A stuff that are advertising for bs muscletech and alike)
there are websites where people pay 30 bucks a month membership to read posts from stupid fucks and look at photos of guys you can see any day of the week in front of your local meth detox center

Any bbing mag can get repetitive... every month they will feature the pro or amateur who is currently in the limelight, and they will talk about their training... how many times can you read "squats, 4 sets front squats, 2 sets decline bench, etc" every single month... they wanna make it really interesting? Just have those guys post their drug regimens in addition to their training routines.

actually this problem is across all print journal in general. The internet (information on demand) has destroyed their sales. Why buy something one month behind schedule. Why even buy at all when I can real time indept info NOW.

No, but that's the only thing I'd bother to read to begin with. Why do I care what some genetically gifted juiced pro thinks when his advice isn't going to help my Jew-y natural self in the least? People who pay for anything they can get for free are pretty damn retarded. The Q&A's are painfully recycled too, there's only so many times I care to read the same answer of what a pro is going to do different this year.

Last month(or THIS month's) MD had a little light at the end of the tunnel. MD was at it's pinnacle in 2001-2004.
What MD needs to do to get back to where it was awesome is first keep John Romano doing what he does best. Tell stories. Past and Present. His latest article of the '90's Bodybuilders' was GREAT! It reminded me of MD's reign a few years back.
Remember when Laura Moore would write an article about 'Sex With My First Bodybuilder'? That article right there motivated the piss out of me back in 2002 when it was printed. 'The Sandwich' would conduct no holds barred type of interviews and there were FUN articles such as 'Top 10 Ways You Know The TEST is Kicking In'.
Maybe I have evolved and I can see things differently. Maybe the internet has alot to do with it as back then if EVERY single pictorial had the person wearing 'gasp' clothing I wouldn't have even noticed and now it's very annoying to me despite my better understanding of buisness. Maybe dick and shit burning balls markus jokes made me giggle when I was 23 but now it doesn't.
For MD to get back to being an awesome magazine again, IMO, I think they have to get Romano writing raw articles again about the weird and peculiar ways of competitive bodybuilders and the lifestyle. He needs to tell more stories about Rico McClinton(used as a parable) to show light on various aspects of competitive bodybuilding that we do not see. He needs to do what he did this month with the 90's Bodybuilders article and make it a monthly thing...but talking about different stories and information.
I always thought Laura Moore was a good thing for MD with her 'Sexpert' Q&A and occasional article but I think MD is going to re-introduce that through a Kim Chambers or Melissa D.
Bring in another interviewer/roving reporter such as 'The Sandwich' but instead of a 400lb fanboy who sits in front of a computer all day it should be someone who knows the industry and has walked the line. Someone genuinely funny and doesn't have to resort to ' So did you tap that shit? Would you tap Brittany Spears?' Special 'The Other Stern' Ed would be perfect for this. He already proven that.
Keep Palumbo doing what he is doing. I like how they are giving props to the female bodybuilders and are showing the softer and more feminine ladies in bodybuilding -vs- the 'Tazzies and Laurens'. Perhaps as there is an OXYGEN or a Muscle/Fitness HERS there should be a magazine by Steve Blechman more orientated to FIGURE and Fitness/ female Bodybuilding. I almost believe that market is almost bigger than male bodybuilding as every girl on earth is comming out of the woodwork to do a figure comp. and most seasoned figure girls are swithcing to bodybuilding to 'usher in' a new era and look of female BBing. A great untapped market and potential cash cow, Steve...John. You reading this?
The ads are here to stay unless they can afford to have a 'waiting list' for potential ad space buyers and sponsors. Not much can be done about that. There are more ads in MD than in Planet Muscle and there is a reason for that.
