Apparently there's a sale at my computer store to make way for the newer models coming in...
*Brand New*
2.8GHZ Dual Core
Intel Motherboard (256mb graphics card onboard, up to 4GB RAM slots)
1 GB RAM
512MB VGA Geforce Fx 7300 PCIE
DVD R/W
160GB SATA Hard Drive
$500
Is that a good enough system to play games and stuff? ???
-
thats really good for 500.

For the latest online games, 1 RAM ain't enough. Graphics card onboard, not good for gaming. Buy a better graphics card. Other then that it sounds like a good buy for $500.

for games its shit, proc is fine, ram needs to be 2gb, onboard video cards are awful, get yourself AT LEAST an 8800gts.

Isn't 512MB VGA Geforce Fx 7300 PCIE a dedicated GPU?
If it's an intel motherboard then I assume this IS a dedicated GPU, otherwise it'd be using a embedded intel 950 GPU which uses shared RAM instead of dedicated.
