Title: milos style training?
Post by: DonCharlie on April 09, 2007, 04:11:27 PM
i've been lurking on these forums for a while, and i see "milos style training" a lot.  are these people talking about his fit show workouts or is there a guide on the internet some where or are they just going off of personal training?

we're talking about his method of taking 10-12 exercises and doing them in a giant set fashion, no rest between the exercises, to me 10-12 movements seems like a little too much so i do like 4 movements and try to go as heavy as i can for 10-12 reps, you have to move very quickly and it helps if there aren't a lot of people in the gym because you'll be at a few different machines and racks.

what i've found is that if you move very fast and with purpose and you have decent size most people will let you in to equipment if they're not using it but just standing around waiting for their next set.

You could try to do Giant sets with one or two barbells, plus a set of dumbells, harder to do but possible for some bodyparts.  Works well for shoulders, by the time I do front raises, side laterals, wide grip upright rows, the weight i use for dumbbell presses is the same weight I used for the side laterals so you don't need lots of machines or lots of weights.  I try and order the exercises so i can use one or two barbells or one or two sets of dumbells, plus it means you can't rest as much.  Only tried this type of training out in the last few weeks and have been using this type of training on shoulders and biceps so far.

Ya, you can choose exercises that don't require tying up a lot of different pieces of equipment, and keep each exercise in close proximity to the next one with a little planning.

so you go through 1 set of 4 exercises, then rest like you would between a regular set?  or do you start back over without rest?

you do all 4 movements with no rest between them, get done with one set then run to the next bar or machine and do the next set until all 4 or 5 or however many are completed.
