Are there still people here who think things are getting better in Iraq?

why do you insist on ignoring any article that says things are getting better?

Well, lets put it in perspective:
Suicide bomber kills 100 at local market VS. Amusement park opens in Baghdad
Can you see why now?
When i read a story like: no suicide attacks or IED's in Baghdad in the last month I'll consider that REAL good news.

You wouldn't have even read that before the war, why do you have such a defeatist attitude?

i wouldn't have read about an amusement park opening in Baghdad before the war? You and I have little clue what was going on there, good news wise, because they weren't news-worthy to us in the west.
We are talking about an amusement park opening MM. Big deal in comparison to IED's, you fellow service dying from a motor round, or a suicide bomber.
It takes nothing to open a park up. i wonder if it's has lots of people going there and do they have security? Good place for a suicide bomber.

watch the ABC clip and tell me what you think. Would ABC really report good news if it wasn't happening? FOX maybe but not one of the major networks. Of course IEDs are still going off. Just like there are good places in NYC there are good places in Baghdad. But it isn't going to stop over night. You should be glad we are making progress and stop wishing we would fail just to satisfy your desire of us not to be there. This kind of stuff is when I accuse people of not supporting the troops. Nothing would make you happier than to see Bush fail because you have been so against this and would never want to say, "hmmm, I guess it ended up working"

Whoa, careful now, you know my position this, I've been clear hopefully. I didn't want the milk to spill, but now that it has we have an obligation to those that support us in Iraq to see it through and clean up the mess, not cut and run. This is just how i feel about right now. A couple more years or less and things don't change i might feel different.
It is good news, the Abc story, just not significant good news IMO.

I'll respect that

What I'd prefer is Saddam still power and us telling him what to do, just like it was before the invasion.
And in the process, us saving 3000 lives, 30,000 wounded and 400 billion.
