Title: "Nappy-headed bros"
Post by: Tre on April 11, 2007, 06:19:23 PM

Imus went after the daughters and that's what landed him on his ass.

If someone attacked your school-aged daughter with that type of language, you'd go after him, too.  It's just that simple.

after spending several years as a police officer, ive been called every name in the book. doesnt bother me one bit.. call me a pig - i could care less.. im secure with who i am, so if someone says something stupid i just look down on them, because they are the lower person... but if i was a giant pussy, like 95% of america, i would be offended every day. i should call the aclu next time my partner gets called a n....r, but that wont happen cuz hes not a pussy either.

Wrong. It's the black community that ended up costing the man his job. Here's a tip, stop sticking up for Sharpton and Jackson, which btw is what most black people do.

dont have one.. if i did and someone called her a name. i would say "there are stupid people in this world who say stupid things. dont let that affect you, because they are lower then you.".. if i had a daughter and she was offended by what someone called her. i'd be a bad father for raising a weak minded kid.

im not defending imus or any scumbag that would say that shit. but this has gotten way out of hand.

You live in NYC right? You should know that this crap has indeed gotten out of hand. NYC is basically crap because of these people! From the MTA's horrible service, to these animals running around and asking for a quarter all the time, it's sickening and out of hand.

How come no one went after Sharpton, Jackson and  Farrakan, are they exempt because they're black? Big, Big double standard.

He made the conscious decision to use the language that he did and was fully aware of his actions at the time.

Sharpton and Jackson are two vastly different people, one attempting to keep his name in the spotlight by doing good, the other trying to keep his name in the spotlight by doing whatever he can.

Imus cost himself his job, period.

Good philosophy.

But in addition to saying something like that to my daughter, I would also deal with the offender, to let him/her know why their actions or statements were wrong.  And then I'd tell them to go tell their parents that I'd corrected them.

The dominant media in America - which is not Black-owned, by the way - has decided that it needs Jesse Jackson.

Louis Farrakhan, however, has been taken to task over and over again for racist comments that he's made throughout the years.

Bottom line:

Blacks are just as racist as whites and say worse shit than that everyday.

Blacks need to chill out over comments like these when they make them too.

Blacks do not seek equality but rather role reversal, ex: see Jesse Jackson.

Al Sharpton's rhymes should be ignored by everyone, especially blacks.

I think we should go call out Richard Pryor, Paul Mooney, Chris Rock and any other comedian saying shit about white people with no problems or controversy.

If Imus gets fired, fire Rosie's fat ass.

Imus made a true statement.

Blacks are way more outright about it than whites but are never punished.  Black people can let the word nig ger control them and they continue to let it.  It is their problem.  You will NEVER cure racism.

i agree.  As a society we aren't even close to it.  If we are lucky maybe 300 years from now our species will be enlightened and progress beyond that.

ALL of those people that I mentioned new EXACTLY what they were saying, they new so well, they usually have it prepared in their speechs and that makes them well aware of what they say and who they say too.........all three that I mentioned and bigger racists than Imus by 10 fold.

Taken to task and publicly punished are two entirely different things..........they basically get off scott free and even though the dominant media is not black owned, they are off the charts to the left, that make a huge difference!

I saw him getting crucified on FOX this week too.

It's not right/left, despite the fact that Rush will blame a rainy day on Nancy Pelosi.

I wonder why nobody is saying anythign about the producer who started it.  BTW, has anyone ever called out ANY black people for the stupid shit they say.  Tre, you are naive if you think anything different.  Sharpton and Jackson are protected not because of a "role" within the black community but because there would a race riot beyond compare if they were popped.  They are stupid and if black people cannot see past the idiocy and follow these tools then they deserve not to get ahead.

Sorry but no.  The rutgers kids have said this has ruined their lifes?  I'd teach my kids that life is not always easy and if a 66 year old man saying something would RUIN their lifes, then real life is gonna be something they can't deal with, i'd let them know its ridiculous to say this has RUINED their lifes.  I'd tell them to buck up, laugh it off as something uttered by an old man that doesn't matter to them.  If you can't deal with something like this, then problems like not having rent money when its due is really going to destroy them.

They also said , this ruined their joy and celebration?  Um, excuse me but Tennessee won the game, since win do you celebrate losing anyway?  they got a bigger 5 minutes of fame from the Don Imus scandal than they would have gotten from getting thrashed by tennessee.  If anyone should be complaining it took away their joy, it should be the tennessee players , not the idiot women from Rutgers.

So....when is Sharpton & Jackson going to begin their protest outside of Snoop Doggs house over the lyrics in his songs?  OH?  never huh?  Classic.

Farrakhan did not have to answer to any advertisers - that's the real difference.  So, he can say whatever he wants without having to worry about whether American Express is going to pull its ads from his broadcasts.

What's happening to Imus is capitalism at its finest.

No way, man.  Jackson is protected, because he does more harm than good to Black America.  The dominant White/Jewish media in America keep the career race-baiter fat, dumb, and happy.

Sharpton, for all his faults, is making a sincere effort to work his way into heaven when he dies.  If you look at his track record over the past 5 years, you'll see a pattern of activism that's tied to common sense and justice.  It's strange that I'm defending him in his latter years, but the reality is that he and Jesse Jackson are vastly different individuals.

Sharpton is doing his part:

Jackson is likely being paid to support such lyrics.  Ever notice how he tries to rap all the time?
