been doing that for years but finally got salmonelized good...

talk about first ejecting from boths ends and feel like a pass trhu the next 2 days  :-\

NEVER MORE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not to mention: bIOtine dEaficiency.. --> raw albumen protein binds to biotine breakdown enzymes and prevents its absorbtion (thank you mister science)

Plain whole eggs without added ingredients are pasteurized but not cooked by bringing them to 140°F and maintaining that temperature for 3 and 1/2 minutes. According to the FDA Food Code, eggs for immediate consumption can be cooked to 145°F for 15 seconds.

If the eggs are to be used in a recipe with other food items, dilute the eggs with with liquid or other ingredients, such as milk, or sugar (at least ¼ cup liquid or sugar per egg as in custard) and cook the egg mixture to 160°F, which will destroy harmful bacteria in a few seconds. What should I do about some of my favorite egg recipes that call for raw or lightly cooked eggs?

Although the overall risk of egg contamination is very small, the risk of foodborne illness from eggs is highest in raw and lightly cooked dishes. To eliminate risk and ensure food safety, replace all your recipes calling for raw or lightly cooked eggs with cooked egg recipes or use pasteurized eggs or egg products when you prepare them.

that happend to me with some bad sushi,  Stomach craps, throwing up, explosive diarea, all a once too. for about 24 hours.  I haven't tried to prepare my own sushi since then.  I feel for you.

eating raw eggs is worthless.

The protein is not bioavailable until alvidin is denatured.

agreed.  Protien needs to be in solid forms for proper digestion, and absorbtion.

I use the egg starters from costco. Their pasteurized and sometimes its just easier to drink than to cook and eat eggs. Eggs cooked taste like S**t sometimes.

I am not saying that the protien in shakes doesn't work, but in my experience real food ( eggs, steaks, potatoes ) give me more results than shakes.

False. Raw Albumen is easily assimilated. We're all aware of the alvidin/biotin binding problem. Which I agree makes raw unattractive.
