Title: Ferris Bueller' Day Off vs. Better off Dead
Post by: Parker on April 15, 2007, 11:19:10 AM
Both of these movies were of the Teenage Angst Movies.  Either the main character was cool like, Ferris Bueller or learned how to be cool as Lane Meyer had to. Ferris had the girl, he was the man with the plan. Lane, lost the girl, had no plan was chased by a crazy paperboy, but found a better girl and triumphed.

And the cars, Ferris father had a old school Ferrari ( in reality it was kit car). Lane had a 67 Camaro with tinted windows, tha never was fixed up, but took a hot French girl to get running.

Both were good movies...

Comments, pro or con?

Better off Dead... I love how the dad  (reading the book "how to communicate with your kids") finally gives up and says "I think it would be entirely beneficial if you were to reengage in the ritual act of dating members of the opposite sex"  ;D

Barney Rubble: "hey, layne...I know this is kinda wierd me being a cartoon and all, but I was wondering if I could go out with beth" followed by the classic barney rubble laugh....

BOD is a great movie, love the asian dudes who talk like Howrad Cosell-sp-

I was about to say something on that. "This is How-ard Co-sell, and in this corner is La-yne...."

One spoke no English the other only spoke like Howard Cosell

I also like when he pulled the pants down of the cheerleader by accident, and all the basketball players were looking at him.

This is like trying to decide which one of your kids you like better.  I do watch Better Off Dead more often, though- lighter feel, no angst, and I prefer the Van Halen burger video to Danka Schen at the parade.

the guitar the burger plays is a replica of the guitar Eddie is holding on the cover of Women and Children First which is where "everybody wants some" is from....since I'm a VH geek here's another piece of trivia for ya:  That guitar was borrowed by Blackie Lawless from W.A.S.P., eddie recorded alot of WACF with it and the preceeded to try to modify it with a hacksaw, he cut out a piece of wood and according to Ed totally ruined the sound of the guitar.  I think it's an Ibenez Destroyer.
