Title: met danny padilla saturday
Post by: Kegdrainer on April 16, 2007, 03:12:46 PM
http://www.dannypadilla.com/

he was once considered the best bodybuilder under 200 lbs.  Now he is certainly retired from the sport, but still comes out to support the industry.  He came out on Saturday to the NGA natural Northeast.  I had a brief conversation with him about the direction of the sport.  A class act....unlike Joe Lazzaro....who by the way i did get an autographed picture of very recently....i will scan and post later when i get home.

If you have pics of dan, put em up here.

no....but his daughter, neice or wife/girlfriend does (Im guessing its his daughter or neice due to large age difference)....he was in syracuse video taping a very attractive hispanic female that was onstage at jeramy freeman's bodybuilding show....I sat right next to Danny. He left as soon as she posed...and stayed only until the figure event was over.

Did you tell him about the thread you made "Should short people bother?"

he actually brought up how it's harder for shorter guys (really shorter guys) to stand out against larger guys.

I thought he caries good size for a short guy and his age.  He is like 5'2.

I know people that know Jeff "box" Long and they said that he is always talking about this too.

I think Lee Priest proved that a shorter guy can place very high at the Olympia and Arnold Classic (and win pro shows)

I wouldn't say "no" he's not in good shape . . . he just turned 56 at the beginning of April and he looks pretty darn good . . . I should be so lucky if I reach his age. (see attached photo)

The figure competitor that Dan trains with and goes to shows with is, for all intents and purposes, his daughter.  She is doing very well in the NPC figure circuit in upstate New York.

Why "for all intents and purposes?" That would mean she's not really his daughter but she acts as such. Is she not really his daughter?

The Europa Show in August will feature a pro show, for smaller sized men and shorter guys, I think under 200 pounds, which is a test to see how will it work.  While this IFBB pro does not let the top three qualify for the Olympia, it will be interesting. Also, the guys in the show can compete the following night in the main Europa Super Show, which does qualify for the O.

210 and under....should be a great show. Hopefully, it will be packed with pro's in the under 210 class, as I believe it could set the trend for future Pro shows with this as a regular feature.

To me, a physique doesn't get much better than padilla at his best.

I was looking at this pic after I posted it....honestly does it get any better than this?  Forget about the height which I don't think you could tell by just looking at the pic, this is probably one of the top 5 alltime individual performances in the history of the sport:

It should be based on height not weight.

You never answered my question. Is it not really his daughter?
