Title: "I don't recall" - AG
Post by: 240 is Back on April 19, 2007, 07:22:24 AM
oh boy, it begins.  "I have no recollection" - another gem.

Gonzalez is suffering from amnesia.  Turns out in the weeks since making statements, he's gotten forgetful.

He's getting torn up on CNN right now.

Get used to it.  :)  He's already told so many contradicting lies that he really has no choice but to play "the Reagan card".

Any administration with the least interest in getting something done - even something dishonorable - would have long since asked Seedy Gonazales to take one for the team and step down. Clearly Bush is in the bunker mode made famous by his predecessor in Republican presidential criminality - Richard Nixon. Win at all costs, grind the bastards down, etc.

Like the VT shooter, they'd be pathetic if they weren't committing such heinous crimes.

"I misspoke back then".

I guess he did it repeatedly then.

And if the top lawmaker in the US has the propensity to misspeak repeatedly on highly scrutinized issues, perhaps he should reconsider whether he has the mental ability to hold down the job.

After all, if a brain surgeon kept saying "My hand slipped" during surgery, you might not fire/jail him, but you sure as hell would move him from the neurosurgery department to something less important.

If you don't believe he is a liar - you have to accept his claim of repeated incompetence/mistakes.  And that position is just too important to leave in ths hands of a man who admittedly messes up this much on topics he is working on so intently.

That's not "the Republican way".

"The Republican way" is to accept responsibility - without accepting any blame or consequences.

And, if you're eventually forced out anyway, your friends will arrange for you a cushy position at some other public teat.

A heckler put the final tally at 74. Schumer characterized it as "almost 100".

Perhaps it's time to find Gonzo a cushy slot some place where his powers of recollection won't be so grievously overtaxed....

I hear a position may be opening at the World Bank.  ;D

you love your country.  you want it to be safe.

You don't want an incompetent guy like that being in charge of prosecuting terrorists, do you?

he said he couldn't remember anything about huge decisions which affected nat'l security.

He makes american less safe if he's this incompetent.  Get in someone without a goldfish memory.
