grown up when i did in the 60's. went to bed at night and didn't lock your door, you knew your neighbors by name.
We would tell our parents we were going to play and they didn't care if we went 5 miles away, they knew we were safe.
we ate like horses, everything was fried yet we remained in shape because we burnt it all off with backyard football, driveway basketball, heck we even would kick a can for fun.
I miss Mayberry, sitting on the porch drinking ice cold cherry coke!

I didn't grow up in the 60's... and I never got to try my first cherry coke until 1986, but ya, I know what you mean.
It's only be quite recently that people started actually locking their doors, and mainly in the cities.

Sometimes I dream i'm driving down an old dirt road,
Not even listed on a map,
I see a man and son carrying a fishing pole,
But I always wake up every time, I try to turn back........
I think of the old days and think of times in this world today and yes a tear rolls down my cheek.
Time to train these pytons!
To 99.99 percent of you, SEE YA!
To Jag, I shall miss you my love! :-*
