3 weeks out
-
holy shit, thick and shredded, you look awesome.
-
Dry as hell for 3 weeks out Damn :o
-
legs look insane from the side and back, monster calves.
-
If kamali beats that again this year i'm gonna scream...
-
man these short dudes look crazy when they get all those years of training under their belt, really complete, isn't really missing anything, fuccking crazy back.
-
:o
Man you're looking incredible right there. It should be interesting seeing how you ride that in, though...you've got that '93 Dorian b&w look right now that uses a certain hydration level to give that "crisp" appearance and it's always proven a real trick dropping what you need to for the stage from here while retaining adequate fullness, so best of luck to you. I wonder if you'd mind taking or maybe even posting at least weekly pics from here...although dealing with everyone's comments is gonna be a helluva headtrip. Whatever you do, try to stay on target, man. If you've had a trainer bring you this far, don't stop listening to him...and if you've done your own prep, then hang tight to whatever intuition or logic you used to get this far and just finish the job completely. You're not there yet, so hang on real tight to whatever you have been.
-
Very impressive!
Good work!

sick build

With the lineup that is going to be there if Kamali places in the top 5 I am seriously going to have to know who he is paying off to get sympathy placings...Kamali is a has-been compared to most of the top 8 guys at any given pro show....
-
You`re gonna` be tough to beat................good luck!!

As Bob would say: Better to have it dialed in early so you can make small critique changes right before showtime....

I'm telling him this for his own good...he knows what I'm talking about. Alot of people would consider posting pics at 3 weeks out looking like that a victory in and of itself because those pics are so freaky...but what I'm talking about here is his potential to be even better and not get complacent with that. He should really make the most of this run...and posting pictures like these at 3 weeks out does alot to add pressure to the rest of the prep period, so he's probably gonna have to work harder now to stay cool, hence my advice. Ask Disgusted...this is surely why Kamali isn't wanting to post pictures any weeks out this time around, and I sure as hell don't blame him.
"The process" always has always intrigued me, and what we have right here is a man very obviously on one of the best runs of his life, so I'm glad he's sharing. This is the good stuff!
-
nice deck!
-
Looks good Brian. Good luck.

Brian, you're looking incredible! Stay the course and keep your nose to the grind! Go kick some butt bro!

-
Wow that is incredible!

Sorry about the noob question MCFarland but, who are you?

Sorry about the noob question MCFarland but, who are you?
Go do a search for "Jeff McFarlandPT" over at Muscle Mayhem. Guy is famous (and infamous too!) for some golden threads including one of him getting getting ready for a contest and what was running through his head at the moment. Be it the photos he constantly posted on his progress, the music infamous music lyrics he posted to get across what was in his mind and relate it to others- McFarland's word carries weight in many circles in the BBing world.
He also started "the Iron Revolution" message board, but it quickly got out of hand and didn't last long.
-
Looks like he'd cut somebody if he brushed against them. Very sharp.
-
holy shit, dude! :o

-
No doubt, you have your gear dialed. Impressive.

Looks incredible! 8)

for the slow, aka those who are getting all pissy at mcjeff's comments:
brian is NOT there yet, because the show isn't tonight. he's got three weeks to go. so instead of just sitting back and saying "yep, i'm ready" and just coasting, keep on doing whatever he's been doing to get to that sick look and when it comes time to hop on stage he'll be that much more impressive.
yeesh.
-
WOW !
good job at dialing it in !
you will definitly be at your all time best in NY
-

Hey Brian, what shows you doing this season?

-
From Brian's website:
Height: 5’3”
Off-Season Weight: 230 lbs.
Contest Weight: 200 lbs.
Status: Married to wife Julie
Kids: 1 son - Brian Charles Jr.
I began competing when I was 17 years old. I have always been active and played different sports as a kid and teen. I played football briefly, ran track briefly, wrestled briefly, hunted since the age of 12, skate boarded for 10 years, snow boarded for 6 years all the while lifting weights on and off. I was always known for being built and strong for my size and age. At about the age of 16 I began to lift 5 days a week and continued until this day. Lol, as of now that’s 16 years I have been training! Holy shit that’s a long time but I still love the feeling of getting stronger each week. Above and beyond everything else, the best part about weight lifting is pushing my self during every workout. The feeling after a workout of knowing I gave it my all, literally to the point of getting sick, seeing stars, or having a standing 8 count made me feel good about my self. The high I would get after a kick ass workout is what kept me going back. It was the one thing that was always there not no matter what was going on in my life. It was a release, a way to deal with anger and stress at times. Bodybuilding also taught me patience, persistent, and perseverance.
I competed my first time at the age of 17 in an AAU bodybuilding contest at the request of a friend at the gym. I won my weight class and the overall in the teenage category, thus the beginning of my bodybuilding career. With the thirst of wanting to win and better myself as a bodybuilder, I began reading everything I could get my hands on to become better. I competed my first time as an adult at the age of 20 years old at New Jerseys 1995 NPC Muscle Beach where once again I won my class and the open Overall as a light weight. Six weeks later I won my class at the NPC Classic and was encouraged to go compete at the Nationals by Gary Udit; PA chairman. I knew one thing and that was there was no way in hell I was going to the nationals as a light weight! I needed to grow. I took off from competing from 1995 till 1998 and moved up to the middle weights, winning my class and the overall at the NPC Pittsburgh Championships. Six weeks later I competed in my first national level competition, the Jr. Nationals, where I took second to the over all winner Kevin English who later that year turned pro by winning the middle weight class at the NPC Nationals.
In 2004 I won the IFBB North American Bodybuilding Championships earning my pro status. I took 7th at the Charlotte Pro in 2005, then took 2nd at the Mr. Olympia Wildcard Showdown. In 2006 I placed 8th at the Montreal Pro Classic and 6th at the Atlantic City Pro. I am now gearing up to compete in the spring of 2007. With lots of support from my wife, new son Brian Jr. and family, I can’t wait to get back on stage again.
As a profession, I run and operate a weight management and personal training clinic out of Gold’s gym in Thorndale, PA where I also train Bodybuilders, Fitness and Figure competitors. Just recently, I began writing training Q&A’s for Muscle Mag International which I am excited about. Since 2002 I have written training and motivational articles for Universal Nutrition (Animal) under the alias “Bulldog” which is cool because you can speak how you like. No holding back!
Since the birth of our son, my wife and I spend a lot of time at home together as a family. We are very excited to be parents and are enjoying every sleepless minute of it! Below is a picture of Brian Jr. and I when he was about 8 weeks old. To the left is a picture of my beautiful wife and I.

I have 3 competitors going into the Pittsburgh this year, joe burke, lind walter and Lori LaPointe. Lori is doing figure. I have several others doing the lehigh valley, Philadelphia and PA states. All together i have 10 amatures competing under my direction..... Hoping its a good year!
-
is your wife taller than you?
-
Brian,as a few others have noted you have excellent hamstrings, would you mind detailing your routine for them.
I have always done heavy compound movements for legs. Hams i normally do stiff legged deads, laying dumbbell leg curl, laying leg curl, seated leg curls and dead lifts on back day. I normally do 3 exercises per body part keeping sets at about 4 and reps between 8-16 depending on the time of the year. Quads movments also involve hams especially while doing wide squats, high leg presses, lunges etc. Today for instance i started with stiff deads 4 sets 0f 14 reps, then laying leg curl 3 sets 12 reps then standing one leg curl 3 sets 12 reps. Then on to quads begining with smith squats super setted with leg extensions for 3 sets of 20 reps (20 reps squating then 20 more leg extensions) then on to barbell lunges 3 sets of 20 reps, then on leg leg press 3 sets 15 reps, the sissy squats for 2 sets of 20....
-
is your wife taller than you?
Yes my wife is just 5ft. 10in...... while i am 5ft. 3.5 inches.... :)~'
