i think so he is a bit of both ;)..but he is more of the former than the latter

He's really good at making you believe his character. In my book he and Nicholas cage are two of the best.

Joe Pistone/Donnie Brasco (a undercover fbi agent with the mob stradling the fence)-Donnie brasco

Edward Sissors hands (um..im not sure what the hell he was but it was good)
willie wonka

big_mal you forgot about depp in fear and loathing in las vegas...i think so the way he acted in fear and loathing it was just too damn awesome and arizona dreams was insanely hilarious too.it was 2 hrs long and i was litreally laughing non stop for 1hr and 15 minutes..amazing actor
