*Michaela Tubbs is below pair as a referee. Be low me Michaela. You suck.
*Other referees:Verhaas has been his usual awesomeness, Chamberlain as well. Komen good.
*Ronnie the Rocket killed Ding in the first round. Ronnie has become a ghost for young Ding-Dong, who hasn't recovered since the slamming he received at the Masters final.
*Hendry is on to the second round, after defeating Qualifier David Gray. No great play from Hendry, who had a new cue, but reportedly has been training tremendously. My fave player, but doesn't look like Sir Hendry will get through the second round IMO, faces an in form Allie Carter in 2nd round.
*Ebdon looks in good shape. Cruised the first round.
*Best match of the first round: Williams-Joe Swail (!). Swail winning the final frame, but seems to be losing the second round to Maguire - often difficult to produce two top performances in a row for mid-level players.
*Surprise victory for John Parrott over buddy BBC commentator Steve Davis, only to lose the second round to a slimmed down Shaun Murphy (has lost over 25 lbs), who doesn't seem to be on top of his game however, misses too many long pots.
*Reigning champ Graeme Dott lost in first round.
*My final pair pic: O'Sullivan versus Ebdon, with O'Sullivan winning.
*However, if Stephen pulls it together and beats Carter, he and O'Sullivan could face each other in a dream matchup.

I think Hendry got a new cue...he needs to practice more with it, me thinks. He is 5-2 down to Carter at the moment.
Good to see two Northern Irish players make the second round, but Joe Swail is now out and Mark Allen is 9-7 down to Stevens.
-
Ronnie The Rocket is absolutely raping Neil "Pretty Boy" Robertson in the 2nd round right now, 5-2 in the (25) frame match, first to 13 frames.
Hendry's up tonite against Carter, at 19.00 UK time (20.00 CET).

Carter has a good chance to go 8-2 up now....though in the time I typed that Hendry just played a great safety :P
I fancy Ronnie verses Matt Stevens in the final.
-
Ali Carter just killed my nig Hendry, and is up 12-4, with one frame to go tomorrow. :'(
At times it looked like Hendry had a problem with his vision, clearly mis-aiming more than on one occasion.
I wouldn't be surprised if he will have laser surgery to correct it in the near future.
Carter could be the man in the finals against Ronnie, but Stevens is strong, as is Selby. But I still believe in Ebdon.
But Ronnie will win this shyte.

Hendry needs a pair of these...though i think he is struggling with his new cue as well.
-
Second part of the O'Sullivan - Robertson match, Robertson fighting back, looks set for a nice showdown tonite.

*Late rally by Hendry, didn't help. Carter still on to the quarterfinals.

once upon a time i woulda had something to contribute.
most bars ya go to here in the US people dont even know the word snooker.. :(

Higgins v Ronnie O on at the moment. 2-1 Higgins, has the makings of a great quarter final.
-
Ditto on the O'Sullivan and Higgins becoming a great QF battle, both players struggled a bit to 4-4.
*Selby! Selby's all over Allie Carter. But only leads 5-3.
*Tonight's matchups: At 1900 UK Time (2000 CET) Big Smurf Murphy v Matthew Stevens (4-4). Stevens should win it, Murphy's had some problem's with his long pots. Maguire should crush Hamilton, although Hamilton's been awesome thus far. Maguire is up 5-3 coming into the night.
*Right now, looks like Selby in the final! And O'Sullivan, or MAYBE Maguire.
If O'Sullivan pulls through, it for sure is the baddest field of players anyone has ever beaten for a world title.

The Sheriff of Pottingham (Hamilton) has been playing good snooker so far, I think he can make the semi-finals.
-
Matthew Stevens looking good. Leading 11-5.
Maguire raping Hamilton, is up by 9-6 at the moment.

Was watching the football tonight so will probably watch some highlights later. Stevens seems to be getting stronger. I'm still backing The Sheriff of Pottingham, he'll come back.

Yeah, I switched over after seeing 'pool winning. Sweet to see Reina dominate on the line like that.

Can you say: Turnaround of the century?
It was like Liverpool in the CL final LOL.

For sure, the only other snooker comeback equal to that is one of the Hendry World Final comebacks against Jimmy White.
Semi-finals today.
John Higgins (Sco) v Stephen Maguire (Sco)
I'm going to go for Maguire on this one. A few years back he was playing awesome snooker and winning titles and now he is back to that form. Seems to be peaking at the right time.
Shaun Murphy (Eng) v Mark Selby (Eng)
Tough one to call. Murphy has momentum after his amazing comeback. Selby has been fighting hard all tournament. Murphy's experience to bring him through.
England/Scotland final will give the commentators plenty of terrible puns to make during the match :-X

Selby struggled on first day, seems like he's worn out by the tough QF and SF.
My guess is that he'll recover, and produce a stunning performance today.
Question is, will it be enough, or will Higgins be able to hold on to his big 12-4 lead?
Higgins only needs 6 more frames to win his second world title.
Higgins has been playing it safe throughout the first day of the finals, capitalizing on Selby's mistakes rather than hitting winners himself.
It would be a great pity if Higgins were to win it. I rather see a guy who dare win, than one who avoids losing.

All my predictions have been wrong so far, I guess I should say Higgins to win...
-
Could be wrong...this is going to be a late one. 14-12 to Higgins at 10.15pm.
