There's no such thing as an adonis diet.
we don't need a skinny natural pro like layne norton to discredit anything his physique does a good job all on it's own.

look at the vid clips of this clown he doesn't even look like he works out in off season shape

i know from my own experience that
a calorie != a calorie
a person with a fast metabolism may think that it's like this. but for me it doesn't work.

I hope with Adam having such confidence in his "theory" he will just sit with a tub of Crisco and eat that all day for a year and then take a medical exam and tell me that a calorie is a calorie.....If he could make it a year that is.... ::)

it would make the most sense to eat the most nutrient rich calories possible. that is if you want good health, long life etc

Since they both have an equal degree of development and muscularity I'm sure you could just as easily take Adonis' dieting advice.

saying they are equal is such an insult to Layne.

Sarcasm is the key word here.  Sunday must be a slow day for some of you.  It's sort of extremely obvious Layne's light years ahead and that's what makes the comparison so entertaining.  Any light bulbs turning on now?  Don't strain yourselves.

Regardless of what TA says, I make the best gains in muscularity and strength following a high protein, high carb, moderate fat regiment.  In general, I make sure to stay hydrated, and I do not overeat, but at the same time don't ever go hungry.  I train with intensity on a 4-5 day split and if all of the above factors are in place I make good gains.  On TA's calorie restricted diet, I find myself losing both muscle and strength.  Now if TA wants to chime in and say I was losing fat and water and not muscle - well...in that case, let me be the first to say I would RATHER have that fat and water because I look bigger, fuller, and better with it versus without.  I might be the exception to TA's diet, but I know what works for me.

I began to feel very unhealthy following the Adonis Principles, especially when my dinner would be something like Starburts, ice cream, and beer. I am glad I have switched back to a more reasonable diet; I seem to have put some size on too, probably from the extra protein.

Or from eating a balanced healthy diet in general, veggies, complex carbs, good fats, quality protein, you know the old school stuff.

Look at it this way: You're one experience richer, and you probably learned how random food choice ("eat whatever you want") will screw up your health at some point. 8)

Looking forward to some update in the fall mate, good luck.

When I first came on to these boards over 2 years ago(with my original handle) Adam was trying to give everyone advice on everything...I called him out a few times about certain things and he always had a lame ass excuse that had no credibility...Glad to see he is finally getting his due and everyone realizes how much of a douche he really is.... ;)....To anyone that takes his advice I feel bad for you and I wish you the best in your progress to nowhere....

The reasons to not do a high carb diet are insignificant.  Thermic effect isn't a big difference.

Say you have only eaten 75g carbs that day and that night you train,  your temporary glycogen level will be really low. You will not be able to lift weights or do cardio at the volume you would if you had eaten 250g carbs.

That means you'll be burning less calories and working your muscles less because you restricted your carbs so much.  Not good effects if you ask me, and much more significant than the "thermic effect".

Protein is definitely necessary to maintain muscle but high amounts are not.

Try eating 400g protein and 100g carbs for 3 weeks and see how strong you are in the gym.  You'll really feel good at the workplace too.   :-\

i've been reading laynes articles for years now...and he's always followed a sound diet, and he counts his calories and macro nutrients by the gram (last i read, last year i think)

so when adonis kept saying that layne agrees with his methods, thats when i knew he was 100% full of shit

speaking of the devil, where has he been?

TA also claimed that I lost mostly fat when I dropped 20 pounds.  I can guarantee I lost at LEAST eight pounds of pure, solid muscle tissue.  I wasn't eating for cripe's sake.  :-\

Near the end, Adonis held resistance training to be largely optional as well.

In a pre-emptive statement issued on March 16, CNN, WMUR TV and the New Hampshire Union Leader declared their intention to exclude Democratic Presidential candidate Mike Gravel from their tri-sponsored debate on June 3rd. This petition seeks to change that. In the wake of the debate on April 26, Sen. Gravel deserves to be heard. I address this petition to the Publisher of the Union Leader as I feel it will make the most impact there.

I usually stay out of these specific macro intake debates and I don't want to fight with anyone about it cause I don't feel that my nutritional knowledge is where it needs to be to argue it out.

I'll say this, I have no problem functioning on minimal carbs, I just keep my fat intake a little higher.  In fact I can go pretty much all day with limited carbs, except post work out and my poundages don't really suffer.  Since I train DC I'm constantly trying to push more weight so if it was an issue I would have modified it along time ago.

even though I think Norton is a douche bag, he is far and beyond anus development there plus he actually competes with something other than lighting shading and camera angles locked in a room.

STFU you fat punk  ;D

Wrong on both counts:

A.  I'm not fat.
B.  I'm no punk though I'd definately punk you out if we were in general pop.

Suggestions:

A.  Look like something before you open your mouth.
B.  Forget A and go right to C.
C.  You could always just kill yourself.

Warm Regards,

"Teh Naked One"

What Adonis says is somewhat true, like it or not.  I can do that crap to a degree, and get in good shape. The typical person does not just have 1 Mickey D's sandwich at time, etc.  To encourage eating ice cream, and that type of shit, lol. That is why it is wrong for most people to follow that approach, and we all know it. Lower carbs, higher fat and protein works great if you work out.  We all know that is the truth. Layne looks ok in many pictures, but is a big-time dick.  He would get much more respect if he was not so arrogant. I love the gym that Layne trains at, and all that, but he is a dick in many ways too....
